Interesting question.
I was thinking of using copper gasket spray on mine?

RTV is the correct stuff, works a treat - colour wise, don't think the head or barrels will care too much !!

RTV is a lot easier to clean off when required
Whiff of petrol and it's gone

You have to treat it like an advert on the telly One side not coloured, one side coulored One base gasket has to be non British, the other rainbow coloured One gasket on the engine has to identify as not being a gasket Steve 😁

I never use sealants on O-ring heads. No need to if the surfaces are clean and not damaged. On normal head I also never use liquid sealants, just a new gasket.

On a 4L0 engine I would also use some sealant around the stud holes to try and keep the cooling water from entering that space. On my YPVS cylinder head with an inner and outer O-ring I just use O-ring lubricant.
