I have a vague recollection of my OEM mirrors vibrating a little on my first F2 I have around 1989.
My latest one has patern mirrors and they vibrate a lot at a certain number of revs.
Is this normal for both, or just pattern?

Sorry if this appears contrary Jon, but I have an 89 F2 with original mirrors and I have to say they are rock solid. Never vibrate, give a good clear view of everything behind and I could not fault them.

OK thanks for the replies so far.
From memory it’s the left that’s the problem, but only at certain RPM. Tends to be low down.
Not a major problem by any means, just keen to have others input.
When bought it had original scratched mirrors and did the same. It’s not the crank as I had it redone and still no difference. Also as said one mirror is worse than the other so not crank vibrations.

could be a crack in the birdcage?
Ive read before that the pattern mirrors vibrate, but interesting your OEMs did it too.

Mine vibrate at certain revs on the F2, about 3k IIRC but mostly as you rev it at a standstill. They are original Yamaha items. I have not had a crank rebuild, or any engine work from new except reeds, clutch and a carb clean so I don't know the health of my crank. (will be finding out soon I am sure as 19k miles on the clock in 34 years).
