Could anyone please give me the dimensions of a YPVS rear axle? O/D and length from the shoulder of the hexagon on the end.
I have an old metmachex swingarm and the spindle has seen better days – a standard LC one is too short but I am hoping that a YPVS type with its box section swinger is similar?
Thanks in advance.

Unless the old ones are different, the Metmachex wheel spindle will have a keyway and groove at the head end that locates in a groove in the eccentric adjuster. They aren't that accurate though, so a standard spindle off a box section Ypvs may work ?

Dusty Yes Dusty, correct - the original has 2 keyways: one at the head end with a key fitted (to locate in an internal keyway in the adjuster) and one at the threaded end which aligns with a location pin in the bore of the eccentric adjuster. They do both rotate together. It will just be easier to add a couple of keyways to an existing spindle rather than have to turn one complete (I have a spare Fazer 600 fazer spindle I could modify but it would need shortening, turning and threading.)

Only thing I know off the top of my head is that ypvs is 15mm ID too
The fact you can fit a YPVS wheel into an lc arm suggests they are similar length so lc2 is probably too short but F2 was longer for the box section arm but think it will still be too short
TZR250 2ma is 15mm too and I'm sure it is longer
Now the bit that me be of the most interest is that I think I have an old metmachex YPVS spindle 🤔
Got a new one from a member who had 2 made by an engineering shop to cut the cost
At the time Metmachex wanted £100 for one. I'd think the new owner may be a bit cheaper though
I'll see if I can find and measure mine to see if it's any good to you

Mine is kind of ok but i was fixing a slow puncture last night and it reminded me that it would be better if i I could change it.

Just checked the YPVS one and as the picture it's approx 297mm Also found a tzr/tdr one (I think) and it's 295mm and hollow Steve

Steve, that’s great, really appreciate your help. I am currently at work but will have a measure up when I get home tonight. Thanks again.

How long is the actual thread on the TDR one? Thread of the suspected tzr/tdr is 25mm approx so 270mm from head to beginning of thread but thread is smaller than the 15mm spindle (probably M14) so probably no use for the groove Steve

It only passes through the thread , so it being shallower won’t matter if that makes sense! Another thing I thought of was making a nut that’s counterbored to clear the shaft on the 297mm long Metmachex spindle 🤔🤔🤔 Thanks again for your input Bill
