Im not sure if ive posted this pic before, but i think not? been tidying up some net pics id downloaded i came across it and figured Id share it. So lets hope its a new post The Fbers were all over it calling it 'beautiful' when it was posted. Proof to me that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The guy said he'd spent a fortune on it IIRC. But when I look at it, it seems to be made from what was left in the shed after 10+ years of bike builds and doesnt 'flow'. You all know that Ive built a few so I get that building any special takes time and effort and I can appreciate that someone put that into it and all power to them for doing soemthing, however its not what id think of as 'aesthetically pleasing', but maybe Im wrong and have no idea about such things. Perhaps you can convince me otherwise as you (and the Fbers) 'know' its really a work of art?

I think there is a fine line with new chassis/old engine hybrids. A "hybrid" can mean many things to many people, and I very much believe in "each to their own", but for me, a very modern chassis wrapped around a 70's engine isn't my vision. I feel that my Fzrd project is in that category too - I certainly wouldn't have chosen it if I were looking to build something from scratch around a two stroke twin, but I have it in the shed so will do something, maybe, in the future. Some of these builds work really well though - a lot depends on the shape of bodywork and frame to start with. That bike in the pic isn't for me personally though. Dusty

Haha, two replies and two ends of the scale in scale in sugar coating!
The more you look the more you'll be blown away by the schizo work ethic on the same part: Ie, 1, the (too small) single pipe and how the builder didnt see fit to shorten the silencer which would be much simpler than other build aspects and smacks of 'I might need (to sell) that later, dont want to ruin its resale value etc' and 2, the indicators on the piece of alloy plate bolted to the rad thats not trimmed to fit, but the inds were fitted level to the ground which makes them look out of place even tho they are 'level'.

Forget the engine for a moment, it still doesn’t work, seat angle, length of exhaust built by someone with no appreciation of design then painted in farrow and ball kitchen blue. Then if you reintroduce the engine, gt750 engine is fugly the only special that work with them are what Steve is building an 750 race rep Like dusty I’ve said it before on here and I’ll say it again 70’s engine in semi modern doesn’t work and Gt owners always seem to build these bikes do a search for gt specials the majority are in my opinion shite, Uber modern gear with a motor that with the best will in the world was never ever attractive too wide proportions wrong etc they were nicknamed water buffaloes for a reason. Sorry you think that’s great etc you’ve shit in your eye

Black frame, different rear end, bars, cans, single light and it could work. I'll be positive and say it's got good bones

RZs work in modern gear, the Aprilia RS hydrids are amazing. The FZ hybrids were a great all Yamaha hybrid. S1,2 and 3 no, H1 and 2 no. GT750 no. Bridgestone hell no.

Another one here. A Mito with a 1KT engine on ebay at the moment. Doesn't look bad, but some bigger phots might be better. Never understood adverts with postage stamp sized pictures.

Normally trying to hide something you "may" let go when there, but wouldn't travel if you knew, or that's my experience anyway. With a nice coat of paint, and a pipe either side, instead of both same side, that I like.

I’d of brought the two stingers together and had 1 large endcan. It would have made it much more sleeperish (is that a word?). Looking like it’s original 125. Jon

Jon I have a "thing" for a pipe either side. Loved the early RGV, not so keen on the later version with two pipes one side.

tony2stroke, as I said I’d agree with you usually, I’m not a fan of 2 up one side. I remember coming up behind 125 boy racers and seeing them open it up to try and race me. Depending on mood sometimes I let the steam off into the distance, or sometimes teach them a cc lesson. I’m sure the ones that ‘get away’ say down the pub “I burnt a 350 off today”. You could have fun with a bike like that looking like a 125. Almost the reverse of above. Jon
