I’ve got 2 RDX’s in the garage. One has a top end freshly tuned by Mick Abbey and a freshly rebuild engine. The other, well it’s someones abortive effort at a cafe racer but it’s got good Microns hence why I bought it. Anyhow. Are there any big bore options for the 125cc twin or is it +1mm o/s and that’s your lot?
It needs more torque, hence more cubes….

I had an RD200, I put 250LC carbs manifolds and crossover pipe on, the difference was immense, the reed block pattern is the same on the 125, the spacing is a little closer, but the crossover pipe bends to fit, Stan Stevens put 250LC carbs on a 125 twin too. Just another option for you. Incidentally the Micron on the 125 does nothing for performance, its because of the front pipe, I can recommend a good pipe builder that does excellent work, the pipes are hydro formed, and they work, also less than you would think, they come in a sort out yourself how they fit kit, the ones I had were already pretty close. Just another thought for you.

Cheers T, that’s a useful bit of intel. I’ve got some new 28mm PWK’s for it and a previous keeper has gone to the trouble and expense of sorting bigger down pipes for the Microns. I’m hoping there are some bigger piston options up to say +2mm which would be a small but useful addition.
