Hi All
Bike is abandoned for the moment as my house is a construction site (we have all been there at some point I suppose) so garage is the builders store.
I did however pick up a mini lathe from a guy locally which is missing a few parts. It is one of the little Clarke CL300M jobs with a bit of a sad story.
The guy I got it from told me it belonged to his dad who was an old school engineer and bought it for some hobby stuff. He also has a Myford lathe, Bridgeport mill, line borers, broaching jigs, presses and numerous other proper machining tools
Unfortunately his dad went downhill rapidly with dementia and dismantled all of the machines during his decline, and lost/binned parts for all of the machines. It was really sad to see this broken guy trying to look after his dad and pass on his old beloved machines, every single one dismantled and only partly there.
Back to the mini lathe. It is brand new unused but a slightly older model but missing loads of parts. It still has the transport grease on the cross slide and bed. It is missing a motor plus the variable speed control module/box but I can pick these up as they are relatively generic models from the far east.
I would ask however if anyone has one of these little lathes if they would be willing to take some close up pics of the lead screw/gear wheels set up and the forward /reverse mechanism. That is the gears behind the end cover
I have some parts but no idea what is missing. Any pics may help identify what I should have, and what not so I can cross reference with the parts manual.
Many thanks in advance if anyone can help
John
