I recently sold a 1981 tie bar 4L0 on a W plate. UK bike too. 4L0 01 carbs, grease nipple on the swing arm spindle, drain screws on the forks and modded exhaust flange. Some of the logic and model specs on these bikes year by year baffles me John

Depend what month. 1981 was W until August 1st when it went to X. My 350 was May 1982 and an X. if I waited until August the 1st I could have had a Y reg but I couldn't wait. Having the newest reg was a massive thing in the 80's/90's but I didn't want to miss any riding time. By the time august came around I'd put about 5,000 miles on mine.
