Looks interesting...
I put this post here, as we do not have an electric bike section...yet...

I would have an EV bike as well but not instead of a traditional internal combustion engine (and stinky 2-stroke of course) 😎

It would go nicely with my Tesla. I'd have a Zero, but they are just too expensive, hope this is more realistic.

Id have an electric bike, Ive said that on here a bit over the years and accepted that this isnt the place where anyone suggesting it would expect zero (see what i did there) derision... but it just makes sense for short journeys locally. It doesnt mean I dont want or wont keep my other bikes, I just think embracing the new technology is something we all need to do, hiding heads in the sand isnt the way forwards for those who love riding on two wheels.
I've also said that Im not wed to ICE engines in cars if something else came along that was better. Im not at all convinced that has happened just yet for what i want from a car so I'll keep with a modern petrol vehicle. I do see the irony with this in that we have finally got amazing technology to make petrol work well, be frugal and yet its already had its death warrant signed. ie. My modern car is practically silent, does 0-60 in sub 5 seconds and you can rant it all day long and only use around 7L/100kms of fuel. But its days are numbered by changes and laws that were made looking at the pollution figures from the past and with no real thoughts about a total cost to the environment, more about politics... but let's not go there in this thread perhaps...
I do wonder if electric bicycles are the new progression for kids to enter motorcycling rather than the old moped/125 route many of us took. The desire to go faster and further will always be there in the young human brain i would think. Therefore it makes some sense that if youve been hopping up your leccy bicycle by removing the speed limiter/restrictions that youre already doing what we did with derestricting learner bikes back in the day. Our time back then was almost always spent looking at what was bigger and better and faster than what we had, so we dreamt about what we could get when we were a little older (not wiser!) by oggling what was in mags and shop windows. The same dreams are in modern youth just in a different way and fed by the stream (deluge) of the internet rather than monthly standing around reading mags in WHS and riding home the long way to pass the local bike dealers to see what they had in stock.
So, if Triumph and others continue to exist/grow with this technology then I feel we should embrace them; poo-pooing them is a short termist view where motorcycling dies and only will only exist as a niche hobby that is populated mostly by old men... ahem... er... lol.

Not for me...ever. I wont have an iphone or whatever that human "attachment" is. The less "tech" the better for me...cant find a car with wind down windows now...or a fookin hand applied hand brake...

My modern car has a 'hand' handbrake, its there for when you want to use it to do turns or drift... yep, they seriously did it for that lol. Some more commercial style vehicles have windy windows, the Hi Lux ute here in all but the posh models has them.

I know you guys are right and electric bikes are the future but I couldn’t bring myself to get an electric bike , a bike has to have an engine two or four strokes both have their merits, old fashioned I know but an electric bike has no soul

I love the sound of internal combustion engines, and always want to have a selection of two stroke singles, twins , four stroke 4 cyl and v twin at my disposal.
However, the ability to be able to stealthily enjoy some spirited naughtiness is apealing.
Pip Higham likened an ebike he tested acceleration as akin to one of his turbo drag bikes.
