3 of these for the price of n Lc crazy isn’t it. This one was £1500 in November 2019, probably owes me over £3k now but I still think it’s worth it. My Lc was £490 in 2004 and I thought I’d been stiffed 😂

Lovely bike. Was there a specific reason for changing the radiator?

Nice, I had one of these back in the mid nineties but sold it due to handling issues. Now I know better and should have researched different tyres, suspension, etc. 🤔

They are known for having a poor cooling system. I’m hoping to ride it to Spain this summer so thought it wise. Plus the original was 38 years old (same as the rest of it I suppose🤷🏼♂️)

Now I know better and should have researched different tyres, suspension, etc. 🤔 Th front end of mine was awful Geoff. After trying new springs, oil, blanking off the anti dive etc it was still crap compared to my mates later model. We did a tour of Britain in august (2000 miles) and it made my arms ache! It’s definitely a keeper so worth spending on......

Just thought I would give you all an update: I have done almost 1000 miles now since the rebuild and it is night and day better. My mate has a later (A8) model which has the 17” front wheel and 41mm forks without anti-dive – as soon as I tried his I realised just how bad mine was. It is now much better than the A8: the suspension is preload and rebound adjustable plus the forks are 43mm diameter so a lot stiffer. Combined with the modern (straight fit) calipers. Its almost like riding a modern bike. Cooling wise, the temp used to rocket when stood in traffic, now it stays stable much longer. It will possibly rise in the summer months but I am certain its better. So the current plan is to leave the MT10 at home in July and ride our GPZ’s down to Spain. We did almost 2000 miles last year riding them around England for a week, the Spanish trip will be nearer 2500 so not that much further…………

Bikes looking great Bill
I have a hankering for a gpz11 since I've gave up hope of having another 750 turbo but there's a nice 900 with different running gear on eBay just now 🤔

We're doing the Portsmouth to Santander ferry in June on the VFR800. The bike reaches 105, at which point the fan comes on, much quicker and more often than my R1 ever did in this country never mind Spain. The fan quickly drops the temperature down so I'm not too concerned and it's fine while it's moving but it doesn't take long in traffic to get up there. From what I've read it sound normal for a VFR.

Apparently you need to space out the sprocket and widen the centre stand to do this. I debated that option but decided against it as the A8 rear is the same design and goes straight in.

The fan on my MT10 also kicks in at 105 - in traffic in Annecy a couple of years back it was on all the time but never bubbled over so yeah, should be fine.......

I use to have a mk2, rode it on the road and on trackdays at Anglesey and Cadwell. Good fun to ride although ground clearance was a bit iffy. Rob

I'm guessing you were meaning to quote me My R1 fan has only been on once in real life and that was stuck in a proper log jam in our town centre. I did once force it to come on by leaving it ticking over for an age just to prove to myself it actually worked. The VFR has been on three or four times in one journey. It always drops the temp quite quickly though.
