Hello all, I have been reading posts as a guest for a while and purchased a 250lc with 350 conversion off ebay last week, it's an import that's had restoration in 2018 and only done 100 miles so I'm expecting a few issues when I get out on it, I sold my last lc with ypvs engine in 2013 after never actually getting it to run right, issues with my new one have started already as I fired her up today and had a few backfires out from one exhaust, I'll probably need lots of help in the near future so thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum It all depends on how professional the conversion was done. I would check if the carbs are marked 4L0,exhausts are 350 ones and oil pump for starters (look for little yellow dot). Ideally your carbs should have a 4L0.01 on them. Start with the basics first, like plugs, timing, clean carbs and check jet sizes. Good luck.

Hi Zed welcome aboard!! Some really helpful people on here, so you’ll always find the answers. I’m a recently new owner, had some issues from my bike not being used for 4 years. Check out some of my posts as they provide the solutions and feedback from me when I’ve sorted the problems.

Thanks guys, yes copper99 it was pretty expensive but after a check up it's got all the correct parts fitted, later 350 barrels, later 350 carbs, oil pump as well as the brakes, the only thing that's not been changed is the rear wheel, oh and mint paintwork all done by Mark Cordwell 😀.

zed I wouldn’t worry too much about the 250 rear wheel. Unless you were an anorak, but the fact it was originally a 250 and it’s got Gibson’s, I suspect not? On paper it’s better with a conventional cush drive, but the 250 still had four rubber bobbins (a design followed in a similar way with the last TZR 250 3XV’s albeit with 5 bobbins). Seem to remember some racers actually converted to a 250 rear as they were lighter? Jon
