i really dont know if i have mk 1 or mk 2 i cant work it out can any 1 help im building mk 2 whould it mater if it was mk 1 ? thanks Look at gary-rd-robbo's pic, the sheet metal part (let's call them "wheel mounts") on the black one is 8 mm thick and the left one is 6 mm. 6 mm = mk1 8mm = mk2/mk3 But yes, you could run a mk1 swinger if you want, but they're not as strong sideways obviously. I don't think it is a big problem though, it would take an enormous force to bend the mk1 wheel mounts when you ride the bike. (the wheel, when torqued up, will make the wheel mounts steady) Another thing to think about is that you'll also need mk1 chain tensioners (unless you fancy squeezing the YPVS tensioners together, which is pretty dodgy imo) as the ones for YPVS are made for the 8 mm metal part. You may be able to squeeze a 2 mm washer between the swinger and tensioners though, but from what I've noticed, it's pretty damn hard to find washers with 15 mm internal diam, 2 mm thickness and some 35-40 mm outside diam. You could make your own washers from 2 mm sheet metal though but it would be a bit of a P.I.T.A. ;D

PS: One time I went about 70-80 km/h on a gravel road with my 350 LC. Not sure about the speed as the rear wheel were spinning like mad, it was a full throttle blast in the middle of the forest and the speedo showed about 100 km/h on 3rd gear. Good old days haha. The 350 LC has 8 mm thick wheel mounts btw. - Anyway, not very surprisingly I got a tank slapper from hell JUST when I was about to chick out. So what happened? Well, the rear wheel apparantly went bashing about 80 cm to the sides according to my brother which were driving behind me and saw it all. He asked me if my asshole broke haha. Strangely enough I did not feel the rear at all, only the front. My god did it slap, it was more or less a lock to lock slapper and I almost lost the grip of the handlebar. Anyway, so after my brother told me about the rear wheel fishtailing like hell, I checked the rear of the bike thoroughly, but nothing happened with the swinger or anything. Phew! Though, the front of the bike became kinda tarted up. Front muddy was sitting uneven afterwards cos the forks had twisted inside the yokes! I had to undo the forks and muddy, twist it all back and torque it up again. All good in the end.
