Hi all
Just like to say thanks to all that wished me luck with the back operation
Had it today and it was going to be just a removal of some small amount of vertebrae bone to ease the pressure on a bunch of nerves
Not so simple yes shave off a bit of bone but had to remove some of the disc too as it was rather knackered
I was told they may change tact once I was on the table, and one thing I always say is there is always someone worse off than you so be positive and be thankful for what you do haveš
Think I need to change my name to āOld biker engineā as it seems until you take it apart you donāt know whatās else fookedš„š„
Oh well at least the op is over so I should now be on the way back up just may take a little longer š
Take it easy everybody and have good Xmas and new year
Best wishes Al

Just do as you are told regarding your recovery... I had to lift something (after abdomen surgery) when I was supposed to be taking it easy, paid for it for over a year.... Still got to get my back looked at... Hope your meds dont interfere with booze!! Let the printer take the strain.

Hi Al, At your age it was never going to be an easy cut and shut job...š¬š¤£
Joking aside though, good to get it all sorted at once and to know what the condition is moving forward.
Hope you have a speedy recovery, and keep your feet up while you have a great Christmas.
Cheers Duncan

Great to hear it went well Al, dont run before you can walk with the recovery as Steve says.

Didn't know you were having a back op Al ? Hope it went well. I echo what Steve says regards recovery - dont overdo it and let it heel properly. Movement is key, but in the right way ! Hopefully, once the initial swelling and pain from the op reduce, you will have a better back Good luck Best wishes Dusty

when you've seen the state of 40+yr old engines like I have, I can only imagine the state some our our "old" bodies are in, I dread to think what they would find inside me!
Take it easy and speedy recovery

Hope the recovery goes well Al. No heavy lifting for a while Stick to halves and small glasses of wine until doc says you can lift a pint. Take care and hope you not too uncomfortable. Shaun

Hi Al, glad it went well. I've had a back op and it's very concerning people are waving scalpels near my spinal chord. All done now š

Thanks all Just got home back is just a bit sore and movementās rather limited Oh well think the rear disc conversion for the CB400F is going to have to sit a while when the final bits are being made and I am sensible and fully rest up and await a day when I am again fit and healthy But as the Race Tech stuff for the CB400F front forks has a six week lead time as itās (supplied by shock tech in the Uk but has to come from the states) I shall get on with that order so itās here when fully recovered But just received a nice prezzy to cheer me up Got the fork adjustable preload units today for the change that look well made that include air preload too[emoji16] So will put them away ready for the race tech kit Excuse ānurse willowā in the background[emoji23] Best wishes Al Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk loop

Glad to hear everything is heading in the right directionā¦ At least you didnāt wake to find theyād disconnected your pump and put you on premixā¦ Doc tied a knot in my pumps oil line long time ago as no more little rdās running round the house than the two hooligans I already made from scratch one night that then took nine months to build (but not by me personally) And still cost me a fortuneššš Then only thing I really want is two no smoking rdās pleasešš

Glad to hear the op is over and done with Al. As echoed above, do exactly what you've been told to do otherwise you'll end up worse than when you started...I, and others, know this! So rest up, have a great xmas (let someone else carve the turkey/tofu whatever) and 2022 should be a spiffing year!
