Evening,
Does a bike being a German import affect the price, Looking at a few bikes and most are German imports

They are generally a little cheaper than a UK bike. If they are not registered in UK then due to the extra work required to register them, they are a little cheaper again.

Is there anything obvious on an UK bike that’s won’t be on an import, apart from clocks in km

Steering lock on headstock for German bikes. Two springs on side stand so it auto retracts. Rubber boot over wheel spindle nuts. Mirrors with no knuckles. Headlight pattern different and has a metal deflector in front of bulb. Schnitzel holder standard on German bikes ;-)
Good job you don't want a German SS50...

Also KMH clocks but they can be changed to MPH. I bought one, NOVA was easy and I regret selling it.

German bikes may not be as messed about with as a Uk bike due to their TUV and type approval regulations.
Be careful of restricted German bikes - they’re dead easy to derestrict if they’ve not been done already but it’s something to look out for.
I imported a German - no great drama and it’s a great bike.

I guess it’s whatever floats your boat - personally it had to be an RD350 LC2 (YPVS) but that’s my preference.
While I was looking I came close to a couple of RD350R bikes - I love the twin headlight look but many don’t
There’s loads of help and advice on here for whatever you choose and whatever you want to do with it - a full (green passivate) nut and bolt resto, an 80-90% original bike or a hybrid of some sort.
The world is your lobster 😊

People’s preferences are just that their own personal opinions. Firstly what’s your budget? Secondly what do you want out of the bike? What will you use it for? Thirdly do you want a standard bike if so do you know what you’re looking at? There are so many variables that you’ll need to decide what you want. The question of what’s people’s preference is so open to interpretation have a look over the forum ask as many questions as you like to help inform your choice. Good luck with finding what’s right for you. 👍

We really do need that pack of top trumps cards being finished. Additional benefits would be every new person who rocks up and asks as per this OP, we can just point to card pack purchase.
Personally my advice in order to simply the mind dizziness is to just answer two questions 1. What do you fancy, 2. What’s your budget
Other people’s preferences and budgets are less relevant. But don’t confuse preferences with ‘market structure’. Like with any vehicle , a buyers guide is underpinned by a commercial rationale.

Looking for people’s preference, here, But thanks for your input My point was that pretty much all of what you are asking has been asked on here before... not least your question in pipe/jetting and what people prefer ypvs or LC etc etc etc. You'll get a lot out of a good read rather than asking old questions over again is all im saying.

Ok, so I’ve had numerous 350LC’s most recently I’ve had TDR 250 So I’m unsure if I want a 350 YPVS or just an LC I want something that’s been done, been down the route of restoring, and I prefer to ride than look at a shelf queen. Budget, well between £5K - £8K Prices seem all o we the place, and lots of bikes may have high prices but are still for sale

We get shed loads of people coming on here and we are a great forum, what often happens is people come on ask loads of questions that are easily answered by doing a search then they disappear again. Long term members sometimes get a little aggrieved having to answer the same questions when a quick search probably will turn up the answer you need. So if you multiply the questions by lots of new folk we end up posting the same stuff time and again going out of our way to be helpful to newbies for no reward other than we like to help out. Jon has a valid point, no disrespect to you as a new member, if you stay around you’ll start to notice just how frequently it happens. So starting again you’ve a budget between 5-8k and want a half decent runner. Once you’ve posted 10 times you can access the wanted and for sale board and hopefully find exactly what you’re after. Good luck.

So the next question is LC or YPVS Hello, a few more posts and you can see the 'for sale'. There's a nice F2 one there that may tick most of your boxes. Link is for when you can access 🙂 rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/56344/blue-f2

Less than ten posts and he's calling someone an arse. Is that a record?
My Mam used to say "ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer"
"So the next question is LC or YPVS"
Presuming you are asking the good people of this forum which one you should buy I did a survey and the results are 50% say LC and 50% say YPVS.

Budget, well between £5K - £8K Prices seem all o we the place, and lots of bikes may have high prices but are still for sale Yeah prices all over the place, but for that wonga you should get summat decent, and maybe that should be the deciding factor? A good lc is better than a rough valve and vice versa. And one thats been sorted out by someone who knows what they are doing is a much better bet! There is such a person on here. Dont exclude a 250 either, and should also be a little cheaper. I realise that not all newbies to the forum are aware of search functions and the like...I'm not.. after being here yrs! It is dismaying to see the crap being hurled once again... it seems all to frequent nowadays, maybe thats the new normal.... I'll rephrase it. Hi aps 350! Hope you find what your looking for, If you stick around on here ie post some more, and get to 10 posts (its the rules!) you could get lucky! Oh, and by the way, there is a search function at the top of the page which may help your quest! Good luck! Steve, a fellow biker.

Do you know how to do that?

I'd give the same advice that I gave to students asking about the best software. The best software is the one you have and like to use. The best bike is the one you have and like riding. Next best is the one you are used to , and don't have yet. Third is the one you've never ridden but have always wanted. Worst choice is the one that suits somebody completely unlike you- for example if you want a show bike, and the vendor wanted a bike to go green laning.
