I hope the "new owner" gets it quickly before the water that the seller has hosed all over it causes some damage......... Hot air gun and some wd40 and it'll be good to go/scrap/regret/get divorced over.

Very harsh, I'm reliably informed (from another forum) that it will make a good boat anchor.

I actually messaged the seller to point out the irregularities of his sale, ie not LC but LC2, engine number is a fake He replied that he bought it for 20 quid and what was I angling at, I said nothing sinister, just making sure you know what you have He wished me happy bidding, I said unfortunately I wouldn't be bidding £600 profit then , not bad ! Yep, not bad at all, for the seller I worry for the buyer though

I’ve been saying it for a year or two, we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Decent bottom end without the top end is probably worth that in today’s money, but what a gamble?
Cases are obviously useless to any law abiding citizen, and those not too clued up risk losing the whole engine or even bike without proof of what’s been done to get it roadworthy again, when plod clock it (however unlikely, due to the lack of them).
I’d have paid £300 max on the off chance the gearbox and barrels were salvageable.
As said by me and many others it’s the last chance saloon for these bikes.
