Not sure if i have been living under a rock for the last 12 months - but whats going on with prices for the 125 of late ? I am actually thinking of letting my 125 go as its been sat for a couple of years with bugger all use So not even sure where to value this and would appreciate some real world thoughts.
Its a F plate Black and red YPVS swiss bike, unrestored with a genuine 7300 miles on it (Check the reg F812MCA) I have owned it since around 2003 and it even still wears the ancient tyres which may or may not be a good thing. Unrestored, just a nice clean bike in good fettle stored correctly with ethanol free race fuel and run up from time to time. Its been around 5 years since i changed the coolant and gearbox oil so it will probably want a light commision and day spend checking it all over. Motor was refreshed around 2008 with crank seals and mains and a genuine piston kit. It has a Gibson pipe but will come with the standard pipe too.
Got a nice spare red/black tank and even most of a spare engine too in need of a rebuild.
So where should i pitch this price wise please Ta

Well I know what I paid for it all those years ago. Not sure if some of the mental prices on ebay are accurate. I will dust it off next week and get some pics and list it on ebay and see where it goes.

Think people get confused with these enormous prices, with whats being asked for rather that what things are really selling for, change the ebay filter to completed listings.

If it's any reference, I sold my white/blue matching numbers 10W Mk1 Swiss import about a year ago for £2,750

I can see the prices people are asking and what they are seemingly selling for, but its difficult to gauge as all are huge mileages or been restored (some better than others) I will probably bring it home out of the lockup over winter, give it a good going over and clean, get some proper detailed pics and throw it to the wolves on eBay and let it find its own real value. I suspect around £3500 easily if judging some of the other lesser examples have actually sold for.
Anyone agree ?
I know its easy to say my bike is better, its not perfect for sure, however originality is there as is very low miles and its a nice clean honest bike that runs and goes well.

Prices went mad during the pandemic. I thought it would go the other way and let two bikes go in 2020 due to the fear mongering just before prices rose, by a lot. I sold the French blue one on UK auction in photo below in June for under 2,500, but was offered 2,500 a few times to 'end early' . Missing belly pan, fairing and oem chrome bracket would be worth 300 ish. Still needed registering which reduced interest quite a bit. I've been dealing with imports for 17 odd years now (as crm above knows ) The 125LC market is the strangest I've known. seems to be about 10 versions of 'MINT' . worst bikes seem to go for the most money, often because they've been blatantly lied about. Loads of stupid buyers out there, so they can ask whatever they want. Also dealers have been pricing them at 5k for the last 5 years. Going back a few years when I could still find them 50% of the bikes I sold for very reasonable money got flipped very quickly, so I wont be the only one kicking myself for not stashing them away! I was offered 4,500 for my white/red one in June when the sun was shining and people were getting to meetings, totally original except Ignitech Cdi. Couldn't complete sale in time, but Im hanging on for 3,995. My Chinese moped was 4,200! and will lose 500 a year to start with. I'm getting requests to send bikes to Asia at UK prices, but the shipping prices have gone through the roof recently. I would advise crm to consider the regrets almost everyone I deal with has for letting bikes they liked go. Europe's classic prices have also risen and travel costs at least doubled at the moment. I've seen parts prices go up again and cant afford zinc plating locally. Check out this link for Honda Mopeds in the Netherlands. These do sell . link

Michael - thank you for the input. Much appreciated. Also thanks for your email too, and i agree.
I did drag the bike out the other week and it started fairly easy, and even through the dust, i fell in love with its looks all over again. I decided it was daft to sell it, i am fortunate that i don't need the space or even the cash at the moment, but i really like the little bike and its easy to "keep" I also decided i want to fit some fresh tyres (Same tyres on it Michael and still less that 900 miles since i bought it from you, so you can only imagine its condition) and i think the forks could use some fresh oil and try and get some damping in there again.
Will email back about the tank
