Prefer the original stuff myself apart from engine internal improvements and expansion pipes are a must

It’s really a personal choice....you don’t need ‘validation’ from us lot ! For me, I’m an all or nothing man.... I love the look of the standard bike because that is what I drooled over when pictured on the sales brochures....yet when it comes to a rider....modify for improved function and individuality!

Probably no help, but I really like both for different aesthetic reasons.

Gilly seat and standard rad cover
Really think those chrome rad covers are pants man
Plus on a standard seat what is that bulge on the sides

I'm a stock man too I'm afraid, although do like the look of a gully. The chrome rad guard is a definite no for me though.
But.. if we were all the same life would be boring, so go with what you like, or swap and change as you like, as long as you enjoy the bike. Happy days.

Jam I’ve a gully seat and rentec rad guard but only because I built mine in homage to what I’d have built at 18, I prefer the std rad guard, and seat it really depends on what you want. I have a standard rad guard, a standard radiator and standard seat stacked in my garage I’m never likely to use them but it’s good to know they are there.

If we all liked the same thing, it'd be a very boring place, luckily we don't, and youll get differing opinions, and they are all good.
Choice is great, fit what you prefer, its yours to do as you wish
Gully and chrome for me.

I like non-standard removable personalisations.
Like others on here, I also change things on my 4L0 depending on my mood. 😉

What ever you feel. The best 4LO I've had was a totally stock one, completely restored and setup well. Well I would say that It was crisp, brakes worked well and it just felt really well balanced and just beautiful to ride. I do like YPVS bikes slightly modified. For me, they are best lightly tuned / optimised, with modern brakes and modified suspension.

Stock for me but I do like the gully seat but you can change that easily daily depending on your mood 😎. Not a fan of "hybrid" bikes or what used to be called custom bikes but respect to those with the skill and knowledge that build them 👍.

You can do modifications that are easily reversible, and keep the original parts so you can go back whenever you want. Best of both worlds.

It's an easy one. Best seat is one that is the most comfortable ie one that does not give you/annoy your chalfonts. And a rad cover that doesn't put the bike into overheat mode either in traffic/stopped/being thrashed. Simples.
