Hi Chris I had the gas set to around 10 mate ๐ Current was set at 40. Since doing the pipes I practiced abit more and turned it up to 60 and it seemed to flow the rod/weld easier I wish I'd of done them with it turned up abit now lol. Although starting off I had it on about 30 cause it kept burning a hole. Any minute gap and it would burn through what a pain ๐. I have definitely learned alot mate as you said any gap/lip caused me an issue. Next set I will get the cones alot tighter fit ๐. I must have dipped the tungstens about 50 times lol. It's hard getting my left and right hand to work in sync. I just need to stay calm and not start shaking ๐๐ Rob Cool cool , ha ha you definitely went in at the deep end with those at that thickness! But hey ho ,best way to learn! Keep practicing. At work we do thease repairs on burner tubes in big Fryer's ,they crack on the bottom of the tubes and you can't get to the bottom because there in a big pan there is about 50 mm gap under them , we have to grind the crack out with a special small grinder and I weld the crack useing a mirror to see underneath!! No joke feck it's bloddy hard , you know what it's like brushing your hair in a mirror lol everything is opposite!! ,So I'm laying on oiley uncomfortable 6 inch pipes looking into a mirror welding a crack up and everything is opposite ,it's a head feck lol ,

Nice job Rob, I bet itโs really satisfying when you do it yourself, keep up the good work ๐๐ Jess Cheers jessy satisfying but fustrating mate alot of work involved cutting and bending the cones and then the welding. I'm just glad I don't have to cut/weld all the pie cut down pipes also ๐

Little update on this build. I've managed to get the carbs setup using a ypvs throttle cable, issue I had was there wasn't enough pull/throw in the splitter box to open the slides fully so I had to extend the splitter box luckily I had a piece of tube that fitted inside the original splitter and was thin enough for the plunger/cable holder to slide inside still. I cut the original into 2 half's and extended roughly 10-15 mm. These are 35mm pwk's and couldn't get away with just changing the adjusters on top. I used 2 little bits of copper brake pipe on top of the adjusters to give me an angle to clear the frame rails. All fully functioning as they should now. Next job was fitting the vape power dynamo and wiring in the ignitech ignition. I got some single coils and fitted them after making the brackets from some 2mm alloy.ive fitted some non resistor plug caps and resistor plugs. On another note I've got the exhausts fully fitted to the lc2 they sound great not too loud I'm going to leave them on and make another set for this bike. I've not fully ran the lc2 in yet so still taking it steady but first impressions after around 30 minutes of riding are that they work fantastic and have realy woken the motor up. I will be getting it on the dyno in a couple of weeks so will be able to see how they are performing. I have removed the airbox and fitted pod filters as I'm always tinkering with the carbs and realy hated getting them on and off. Currently running stock pilots with air screws 3/4 out. 360 main jets, needle on the leanest clip. Premix 40 to 1. It revs out cleanly to stumbling whatsoever ๐ Rob

Hi Alex yes it is the flasher relay it was on the bike when I got it. I had abit of bother with it once I'd wired everything back up I had no indicators zero nothing. I had missed an earth wire that had been put to the yellow and green on the self canceling indicator block which runs to the relay. So with it not having the self canceling unit attached the yellow and green needed earthing. On a side note I checked the flasher relay on my uk lc2 loom the pins on that unit are in a different position to this lc's Then I checked on a different Canadian lc2 loom and the pins on that relay are different again so non of the three looms had the same layout of pins on the flasher relay. God knows why they were all different, either they were all produced different or the pins have been swapped over to suit different flasher boxes in the past. The Toyota one is handy because it fits on the plastic tang/holder ๐

That's handy! Added benefit...it looks like it was designed to go there.

Well done and big grin for first fire up ๐ John Hi John it does sound good albeit abit loud its alot louder than the lc2 with same pipes. It sounds deeper and tinier like there's no wadding in the silencers. When you give it a rev it makes your ears bleed ๐. Jetting wise here's what I have: Carbs 35mm pwk airstrikers No 6 slide/cutaway Pilots 45 Mains 160 1 1/2 airscrew Premix 40 to 1 cheap carlube 2 stroke mineral oil to run it in on to get the rings to bed in. Next job to do is have look at the ignitech ignition map to see what it came with. I'm having abit of bother downloading the software to the laptop. If anyone can help or know if you need to plug the box in to download the software? I'm not sure if it came pre programed and would like to see what's on it before I start it up again. I'll be getting it setup on a dyno eventually. I've been on the ignitech site and tried downloading DC CDI P2 race to the laptop but the program wouldn't open. Cheers Rob ๐

Thanks Rob that is a good help for a start. Carburettor set up is a bit of an unknown to me for this motor however the forum member I got it from also supplied a set of 28mm PWKs. I havenโt even looked at the jetting yet. As for the ignitech Iwould look for a safe map first and think about somethingโs bit more sprightly for when you are ready for the dyno. Looking forward to seeing how you get on. John
