Hi all,
I’ve used Bilthammer in the past to clean tanks with good success.
Consensus on here is it’s probably mainly citric acid which is much cheaper.
What concentration of citric acid to water have people been using?

Half a kilo in 25L is the sort of ratio you need. In truth it doesn’t matter too much but if you’ve not used before then yes, not a case of just a teaspoon of crystals to do a tank. Ultimately the amount of rust you are trying to convert determines how much you need.

Yep. A couple of cup fulls for a tank and leave it a few days. Heat helps, so put it somewhere warm.

Hi use about 10/20gms citric acid to a ltr of water .A mate of mine keeps the stuff warm with a fish tank heater. I have a blanking plate with a bit of inner tube to seal where the tap goes . For the fuel filler i put a rubber bung in that . I do the bottom first with 8.5 ltrs of mix in .Then i turn the tank over to do the top section . What i did find is you need to loosen the blanking plate to free the gas made from the mixture acting on the rust .
