I've used all my stock of my ordinary type of two stroke oil, and my stock of Shell special "R" is dwindling. (I use that when I'm going to show people the 'Castrol R experience' as well as two stroke sound) So I've been looking around for a 5 litre can of synthetic or semi to replace the OMC oil. I'm a pre-mixer on a near-standard tuned YPVS 350, which is why I keep oil on the shelf.
Looking around online, I'm stunned by the incredible range of prices, for oils which have the same technical specifications.
Motul full synth:- £44.64 for 4 litres Motul open Road:- £92.21 for 4 litres Millers Oils synth:-£46.50 for 4 litres Exol Full synth:- £23.99 for 5 litres.
So you'll guess what I'm asking........ Has anyone any experience of Exol two stroke oils? The reviews speak very highly of it, but I'd rather ask here.
Cheers Dave

I have used exol with no issues. I do think that you pay for a name and it's the spec you need to look at. JASO FD

I have been using the Exol two stroke oil for the last few years without issue in my standard tune RD350LC - running it on the pump. I also use their 10/40 semi synthetic in all my 4 bangers too.

It's all I buy now
Shows how much we are being ripped off by the big name brands
I also buy the 10w40 semi for the gearbox

Exol fully synthetic in my 4LO, ( still using oil pump) ticks all the boxes so can’t see the point in paying double or more for a big brand name.

I use it in my RGV250 VJ21 track bike. STD tune. It spends very very little time below 8,000rpm It's the Optima Racing I use in a silver container with a black label. That £23.99 for 5 Litres looks very cheap. What I could see at that price was described as for jet skis (silver with red label). No idea what the difference is. I ran my Suzuki TS100 on Castrol GTX once to get me home from Scarborough (about 45 miles and flat out) so it's got to be better than that eh? I've no idea what mine costs me. A mate of mines business sells it and I get mates rates but it's a while since I bought any. 7L or £35 per 5L seems to be about the cheapest for it on Ebay. Still the cheapest on your list.

[br6] I used to run a tuned dt125 on mineral engine oil as I couldn't afford 2t (I was 10) no issues except de coke regularly was a must, cylinders exhaust etc..

I went to Scarborough on my TS100 with a bunch of mates. I would have had a 350LC or PV at the time so it will have been off the road for some reason or other so went on the TS instead. It did 65 flat out and spent 99% of that trip at 65. It ran out of 2 stroke and they had non in the garage so GTX it was. I still rode it home flat out. I used to put the cheapest oil I could find in my A100. I sold it with 49,000 miles on it, 25,000 by me and none were easy miles. Still on original crank, piston and rings. I think it just cokes up more and maybe smokes more but no more than if you dawdle about. 2 strokes don't like being ridden slowly.

I’ve just ordered five litres of Westway Fully Synthetic 2 Stroke Oil from Amazon it’s supplied directly from Westway thanks everyone 😀 I also noticed that the red label Exol oil listed on eBay has the Westway logo on it maybe they are the same company?

Don't think they are the same company but is the same oil
Westway is just a small unit with lots of containers which they bottle into smaller containers LOL
My 2 stroke oil I bought direct from them in person had Exol labels

Dunno What the current view on Yamaha branded 2 stroke oils: Standard and R types. Apparently Wallmart house brand /cheap 2 stroke oil (in both versions) is the Yama oil at 1/2 the price. Moderne times.

Been using exol for last 8 years now in juniors RM85/RM125 /EXC250 TPI as he grew up, and my KTM250EXC. No problems, junior thrashes the goolies of his bikes, I'm lower half hare and hound enduro, I'm quick on smooth straight bits 😉. Ran 350lc the first 250 miles of fresh crank/barrel/pistons on exol before pulling it apart to get dodgy re lined ports sorted, all looked good. Further 400 miles no problems.
