Putting together the mitaka basket and new rubbers on a spare clutch gear The basket was off my cheese straight cut Primary gears.. It's been a few years but cannot remember which way round the large bevel washer goes
Anyone got pics of a clutch basket replacement rebuild 🤗

Do you mean the Belville washer on the primary drive gear ? If so, fit it so it's concave - nut will tighten against the outer edges first. Dusty

No Dusty it was in with my basket I had in bits unless it's a rogue part !
I have to press back in the bush but this bevel washer is stumping me

There is a flat washer behind the basket, then an identical flat washer between the basket and inner hub, then the locking tab washer. No belville washer. Look at Fowlers parts fiche if you haven't got one, it will show a breakdown of the clutch parts.

The old aircooled motors used a bevelled washer (like primary gear) under the centre nut instead of the tab washer
Pointy end outward

This is a basket that has had the rivets removed so all apart I have the large orange fibre washer to use as not damaged
But this bevel washer I presumed it went between the back plate and large Primary gear ?

There is a few pics of the clutch rebuild at the bottom of page 2 of the resto section. Its an Lc but basically the same as a Pv, apart from the shape of the original damper pucks.

There are two thrust washers as part of the assembly, both flat and identical part, one sits behind the main basket where it seats on the shaft to gap the basket from the casing and the other sits between the basket and the clutch centre hub, essentially one each side of the clutch basket inner bush. There isn't a bevel shim used in the clutch pack.

I know about the 2 thrust washers but nothing to do with that
So apart from the orange gasket, nothing else in there before I put the back plate back on apart from the cushion rubbers
I will have to try and get a pic up but my old laptop is dying !

There is a bevel shim that sits between the primary drive and the backing plate that holds the bushes in place, it sits in the hub against the back of the primary drive gear, the bevelled outer edge faces up towards the backing plate and is compressed as you pull it all together and rivet/bolt it up.
