That's it in UK nearly £100 ffs I know the oil pump gear is smaller but that is pennies in comparison
Nothing is cheap these days but that is taking the piss with a cherry on top !

Steve Burgess is 3D printing the equally expensive Aircooled oil pump gears in nylon for similar reason, probably water pump could be done the same.

hmmm buy all the bits that are cheap in the USA like clutch covers, shift shafts etc etc along with these gears. Pay the exy post, the taxes and rejoyce at how much you still saved. If people stop buying them in the UK they will realise and the prices will come down. maybe.

I just looked at my german suppliers website: 132 Euro.
Memo to myself: Don't lose these small parts!
Neither ride your motorcycle and wear this expensive stuff, lol.

As for the gear change shaft i welded one up around the wear area and had it machined back to size . All i need is a few more to weld up and get machined and start an exchange type sales service . A mate of mine has a 3d printer i will run a couple of ideas past him next time i see him . Have to admit prices are getting silly.

Im all for 3D printing things we cannot get and especially stuff that not load bearing, but a gear cog that you need to be running concerns me. Cue stripped 3D water pump gear thread... not saying it will happen, but why chance it when you can still get the OEM part?
Honestly just buy these cheaply from the USA and get a bunch; keep one for you and sell them on for half the uk price and help some guys out and make a few quid on the way through. Plenty of people already doing this, tho not at half the uk price, on things like shift shafts. just sayin.

good work Steve.
For those scared of American buying. I'll buy these for people all day long for a snip at 50quid each if they want to be parted from their money. "im helping out the community" of course... lol
(im not really going to do that, its not 'right')

I don't think I even need one 😂
Way I do it is if I buy 5 things from USA and the post is £50 I split it with the bits I don't need and sell on at a small mark up to cover my time and import duty
I also pay the USA dealer via Paypal so covered If it goes pear shaped

Its the UK pricing, not just Fowlers, it will be coming from the Importer. Same with some EU parts.
But, trust me I buy from all over (I have to living down here) and Fowlers has some great value parts as well, my advice is to do research when you want to buy. Do it before you buy as well... lol, moaning afterwards isnt going to get you sympathy lol.
Defo 'Think outside the box' or at least the country with the cost of what we need on our bikes now its all so exy... sometimes post and taxes on cheap parts make them more expensive, but sometimes the things are so cheap to start with its a no brianer.
FWIW We have the same here in Aus at our dealers. Some parts are great value, some are just outlandish. ie in Aus you never buy bearings and seals locally from Yam. Get em from the USA. Same with things like the clutch parts Steve mentioned above, they are hellish here.
FWIW we have the US's obsession with the Banshee to thank for the cheap parts I think. A very blue collar product, hence cheap parts.
