Hi All Had my crank rebuilt and it came with new LC little end bearings, fitted the DT175 pistons today and you can move them half an inch side to side. Should I have fitted DT175 Little ends, are they wider than LC bearings, is this side to side play acceptable?

Im almost certain that you use 350LC small end bearings . Have you been supplied with 250LC bearings ?

Yes I got 250LC bearings with the crank. But have fitted YPVS bearings and still have side to side movement.

Aren’t small end bearings the same width as the little end? Have never given it any thought before but surely the barrel takes care of side to side piston movement by centralising the piston in regard to the little end? Or am I missing something fundamental?

Little end should be the width of the gap in the piston the bearing sits in
It is usually wider that the con rod small end eye. The bore holds the piston central
If however the bearing is smaller than the piston gap it is way wrong
