Plate not recognised, so can't tell when the bike was registered to narrow it down

Thats what i found they are building the forth road bridge in the background, I thought maybe someone with classic car/ bike knowledge would know how to work out the year He only had it a couple of months before getting taken out by a jag

When registrations were introduced in 1903, and before the suffix format came into effect in 1963, they had no discernable year identifying letters or digits on them. With a registration like this it's impossible to tell (without insider knowledge) how old the vehicle displaying it is. So its before 1963, 1963 was an A reg in the format we all know, ie A123ABC, I did find something that said first registered in Edinburgh regarchive.com/oldplate/platedetailsMay help if you know the exact model.

My dad thinks it was 61 but wasn’t sure so sounds about right

Well its in South Queensferry so must be the south viaduct
