much to my dismay, I am going to have to thin my herd of bikes as I don't have enough space for them all, the problem is I can't decide what to get rid of ! Current stable is; 350LC with custom 421LC engine in it (my one off build - protoype) - using as development bike - could put it back to a stock 350LC engine if required 421 RS Aprilia (one of my main rides), but due to be replaced with new build (All being well) 31K use it as my test bike and rider - nearly completely stock - probably the easist to sell 496 RS Aprilia project (middle of build) 443 Mito my track bike mainly, but needs some repairs after going down the track on its side ! 31k rolling chassis - was going to be my test platform (to save using my 31k above) - no paperwork, but would make a good track bike 400cc turbo project - was thinking of dismantling it and starting again with new approach, but can't decide Clearly nearly all of the bikes are none standard and special to me, but I have to make a decision and need to drop at least 2 or 3 bikes what would you do ?

To be honest Dave the 31k standard bike will be the easiest sale for a decent price

The 31k rolling chassis with no paperwork will be difficult as now Brexit has happened it will be a problem getting a NOVA on it unless it's a UK bike
Now if you have a 31k tank on it stop teasing and just post it to me 😁

Good luck with that one Dave,it's a tough decision that I think only you can make ultimately. Think the projects may sell ok in the current climate especially with the providence that comes with them being your bikes ,but yea regrets I've had a few ☹

No idea if UK bike, might be able to find out, but no reg or paperwork with it, as I say, make a good track bike yeah, think its going to be down the ones easist to sell/move on, which of course probably means the ones I ride the most !

Think we can all sympathise with the predicament! Head says surely something can be moved on...heart can find an excuse to keep them all.
If it’s mainly space you need then how about pull an engine and just move on a rolling chassis from one of the project/development bikes. It’s the engines you’ve sunk your life into..

I've been thinking about selling one of my bikes over the last few months as it hasn't moved for 4 years. I came to a firm decision and got it out of the shed last Saturday armed with a camera ready to take piccys for Fleabay. Washed it then thought I'd better see if it still ran, only fired up second kick which for an XL500S is pretty good going by any standard let alone with 4 year old petrol in it !! Dried it off and put it back in the shed, will maybe see how we get on with selling it next year !! I feel your pain in having to decide what your going to part with.

Tough predicament mate... If I were you I'd get rid of whatever you have the least attachment to..

Turbo two strokes are definitely worth keeping just for the novelty.

Turbo two strokes are definitely worth keeping just for the novelty. Depends if it's actually usable, I won't get rid of something in good working order that I could get some enjoyment out of over something that's just a novelty. I think you need to weigh up what you actually have time for Dave, you have lots of your own projects but doing stuff for customers too and that's often got to be priority so your own stuff will never get done? Make sure you make time for yourself to actually get out and enjoy them

Its the small businessman's dilemma. You do projects to create new products and also enjoy them over the mundane work, but that everyday work pays the bills better than hours (wasted in wrong directions) on projects that 'might' create sales or buzz about the brand etc.
I have a mate who runs a car business who has now had to stop big project builds as hes too busy to solution customers random ideas into reality, no matter how much exposure the build might bring. He know that he cant charge every hour he spends on the big work or the project would never be paid for and so is losing money as that's hours you can never get back if you dont charge for them.
When you start to look at things like making something or even making something work (taking it apart and fixing it) compared to just buying a new or better used one and find that it costs in to do the latter compared to your hourly rate, then you realise youre too busy for projects I think, let alone your own personal passion projects. When did you last trackday/race Dave?
Tough decisions to be made. I reckon anyone wanting an Ex-Mutts project should contact Dave directly. It'd be great to see the Turbo bike done etc.
If it were me... I would think the Mito and the Aprilia 421 would sell fast along with the 31K roller. That leaves you with bikes you ride and use as test mules.

Hi Yazza, yeah she's not great, but fixable, worse part is the rearset mounting on the frame has snapped and my lovely £800 custom radiator got trashed ! TBH been so busy moving house and stuff nothing has happened with any of the bikes, can't even decide if I want to sell any, but if I do, its going to be for the right reasons (new kitchen the wife will argue is a good reason!) Anyway, just about past the madness of late, so just trying to catch up on stuff, so far behind on everything its frightening ! Looks like your doing really well on the racing front, I'll have to try and find time to come watch one day
