Anybody else unhappy about disclosing your private information? What about the hallowed "protection of information act" that works against us trying to trace a vehicles history? Why have I no right to refuse giving out private personal information to christ knows who or what? ITS NONE OF THIER f**kING BUSINESS! I dont like being threatened by anyone especially by an "organisation" who I do not believe a single word they say or have ever said...And they can stuck the CPS up their arse.... The Census.

Time for your medication Steve 😁 Roll up and a nice glass of Malbec 👍 Shame... that's off the list since the recent EU pissy fits........... However.. a nice Argentinian one, or one from our oft ignored cousins and FRIENDS down under wont go amiss I vote with my feet more than my hand! (Chile produces cracking wines also, will have to find a Sancerre substitute as my last one is truly my last one...)

I wouldn’t worry overly about getting fined - I think they only issued about 200 fines at the last Census.
Interestingly the MOD are apparently advising some of its people not to answer certain questions.....

I'm not really sure what this thread is about, but I do have to fill in a lot of forms for maritime security etc.
Sometimes I think there is someone in a company with nothing to do except make up a security form and try to be a smarty pants. There have been times when I have refused to sign forms or not give information out. When challenged they tell you you are not permitted to enter. My standard answer is Fine by me. 9 out of 10 times they accept. The one time they don't there is usually some agreement made between them and my company. I hate this sort of pompous actions that are not important and is a save my ass exercise.

Yes Ive seen this too and been the same, you dont need to answer questions that dont pertain to the job you will do on site etc. I was talking to a car buying service (like carwow in the uk) the other day and the wanted questions about the car I wanted, that was fine. Then about finance, which i didnt want and I wasnt needing a trade in. So, no need to ask what i do for a living, what i earn or what car i have now. I refused to answer those questions. Plenty would just answer them tho. Amusingly (perhaps) I worked with a team of people and we had to do some MOD clearances to be on site at a RAF base and one of our guys went very quiet when the form arrived. Lovely bloke, salt of the earth and honest as the day is long... but he had a criminal record in his past so couldnt pass muster for the MOD. Was totally from left field for us and we missed him on the job. Anyway, im sure with freedom of speech that in the uk you dont need to answer questions on stuff like this, its not a legal situation is it? In the past people gave their religion as 'Jedi' etc.

I remember years ago turning up at A breakdown call within the laundry at a nuclear power station.
It was classed as a contaminated area as it cleaned the workwear from the guys working on the reactor so could have radioactive particles on them
Guy comes to get me and asks if I have been security cleared and completed the induction, I said no
He then tells me I need an enhanced disclosure check done and I need to complete the 4 hour induction course which trained you on the dressing and undressing of the overalls, gloves, boots and headgear I'd have to wear and how to put it on and take it off at the barrier without contaminating myself or carrying any radioactive particle away
I'd have to wear a dose meter recording how much radiation I had been exposed to and on leaving I'd have to go through a scanner to check for radioactivity
Then the whole area would be checked for particles and anything found removed Then I could enter the area
I said fine, I'll be back next week for the training, I'll do a disclosure application and when that's all through I'll come back, suit up and have a look at the job to asses what parts are needed as anything taken in cannot be taken back out as classed as nuclear waste (each tool is checked back out with a Geiger counter)
When the parts turn up I'll be back to repair
He sits and thinks for a while before telling me to bring my car to the security barrier
He gets in, we drive across the site, he leaves me a d the car at a fire exit and wait for him
10 mins later the fire doors open, I go in with my tools, easy fix and back out the fire door 😆
I did go back and do all the training so I could do some maintenance
Was really weird doing it

You don’t want to get contaminated as they really do scrub you with big jaggy brushes 😬

Ain’t no way I’d have done that Steve, I was a cbrn trained responder and you sure as shit do not want to be messing with that shite. In a hot zone you were trained that any over exposure meant you were going to die. It wasn’t until years later we were all advised that the likelihood of survival ever entering a hot zone was minimal. Needless to say a few of us with kids decided discretion was the greater part of valour and we dibbed out. Still use my resi though when I’m working with glass fibre.

Yes,,any particles have to be physically removed, not good news if you have itchy bollocks 😆
There were 2 areas, one was classed C4 and the other R4. Can't remember which was worse
There was a long barrier about 3ft long and 3ft wide that once you had the outfit on you sat on, swung your legs over then entered the area
Half the training was about leaving the area. You backed up to the barrier, dropped your oversuit to your ankles then sat on it. You then had to remove your kit with your gloves on without touching yourself and placing everything in a big bin to go for decontamination. Gloves were last then you swung your legs over to the clean side before going through the scanner.
If the scanner finds anything (it's like a booth with a door on either side) it locks you in and you go for the naked hosing and big scrubby brushes
They did reassure me the first time I went in that the area had been checked over that morning and the drains had been cleaned of particles
The only worrying bit was that my work never ever said their insurance covered me for it 🤨
Was younger and dafter then, I'd tell them to p1ss off now

We used to train with trumpton and they would run the cleaning stations, you wore 3 layers, base then rubber then the outer layer this included gloves socks rubber boots and gloves plus your resi balaclavas and hoods all had to be removed separately all binned all then destroyed and you had to be then washed down if you were I’ll it was tough, no way paramedics would enter even on practice days. I look back at it and it was ridiculous. Only dibble and the army would enter, paramedics and fire service were far to intelligent.

I filled out the form online and did find it very intrusive. I remember doing the last one and that was a document, not done on a PC and was much simpler. What pissed me off was the religion question. I am not religious but was slightly surprised (only slightly mind) that Buddhism is consider by the UK government to be a religion. Bunch of t**ts.
