The problem with that in this situation is They may just want to pull it
I never went for a few years as a particular dentist (practise that I was NHS registered to changed hands) was a teat
Last straw was when I went to a check up with no problems.
Thought it strange he wanted to do x rays. Oh then there is evidence of decay under a crown so he want to take it off to sort it
Surprise, surprise it's all ok under the crown but it got damaged removing it so new gold crown needed. Kerching- £250 for feck all 🤬
Still got all my own albeit 5 are crowned 😁

Yeah I had the same crown replaced several years ago as the fecker hadn't done a proper job in the first place !
I suspect what's left won't be worth saving !

Teeth ware like everything else with age we give them a hard life. Chomping down on stuff washing them with beverages sugar foods spicy stuff n so on. Then we bite things we shouldn't like bike wires to strip them 😂 fingernails. Poor old life for a tooth mine are nearly all still here at 55 but far from being in good shape anymore. My Dad's 80 and got all his teeth bar one that's got a Gold Crown on, Gangster Dad 😎😁

I feel lucky to have most of my teeth still at 55, 2 big back ones removed either side and 4 caps, 2 are gold and 2 porcelain, and I still have all my own hair Didn't go for checkup last year because of covid though.

All there bar one back one which had to be pulled 15 years ago. Two gold crowns... one from 25 years ago, one from 5 years ago, plus a couple of fillings. I must admit, I clean my teeth alot, and floss a bit, but only go to the dentist if somat feels like it needs to be done. No national health dentistry here in Australia, and the f**kers charge like a wounded bull!

Never had a filling, brush twice a day, have some enamel erosion on a couple, but at 55, they are not bad.

I had to have half my front tooth rebuilt after a leg or arm or head or something hit me in the face at a Damned concert during the song Smash it up ! 1 of my porcelain caps was because tooth was snapped, there was a bunch of us walking home from a nighclub and I was extracting urine from 1 of the boys, I took it a bit too far for his state of p*ssed, he was sulking walking behind, the next thing I knew was waking up in a pile of sick and blood in my bed, the little bugger threw a rock he picked up in a garden and it hit me in the back of the head, out like a light, I hit my tooth and snapped it somehow, the nerve was hanging out of it, man that was painful. Still don't remember anything after us all laughing, apparently I wouldn't go to hospital and said I am ok, found my way home somehow, the guy was really apologetic the next day, my own fault for going too far extracting urine when someone is p*ssed, that was when I was 20 and its as good as the day the dentist put the cap on.

I had a back tooth pulled yesterday ,I was in and out of the dentist in less than 15 minutes and that included 5 mins filling in forms about Covid and making another appointment so about 10 minutes in the actual chair all for the bargain price £192.00!

You lot must be rich or I'm at the wrong fkin dentist,,,, at 54 got all my own teeth gaps here and there but not a false one,, the army filled all my molars at the back top and bottom ,,, b*****ds, apparently so you don't go back with toothache while on deployment,,, so last year one of the upper molars cracked from top to the gum across the width perfect 45degree angle, so me bieng me went to my dentist, so he looks and says yeah we can save it, be £250 for root canal , £250 to pin it , and £700 for a crown, so that's £1200 for one tooth,, after I woke up from the shock I'm like f**k off man,, how bloody much,,, 🤯. Or I can put a porcelien filling in for £190 till you decide,,, or£45 to pull it but no need as we can save it, so went for thr porce filling, wich lasted about four months and just crumbled away,, so I changed from my private robbing t**t dentist to an NHS one,,, who said pull it,, no no no I said,, went on ebay and found some glass polymer for rebuilding teeth,, genuine shit wot dentist use, £35 ,, two tiny scoops a few drops of the magic liguid d mix and fill,, smooth sets in 30 secs white too, and never had an once of bother with it,,, pah dentists I've shit em 👍

Dentists are tossers they’re like plumbers always do just enough to get you to call em back out again. Most of mine were kicked out playing rugby and I need implants so going to hop to Hungary ro get mine done. A lot of people go to Turkey but I don’t really want to look like Ross from friends LOL

My NHS dentist is very calm and gentle. Some few years ago I needed a crown. From memory it was maybe £250 for a silver one on the NHS, or around £600 for a white porcelain one private. I had the white one done at the time. It lasted a few years until I started having pain, as it got an absess. It came and when after taking antibiotics. He said really I needed root canal, and the crown may or may not survive. I told him I was disappointed to have chosen the white one as I may have to pay another £600 out. One visit I needed a very small filling elsewhere. He asked me if the other tooth had been troublesome, to which I replied from time to time. He said if I decided then and there to have it done he’d organise a plan. I said yes. I was given a bill of £52 on that day. When I asked about the plan to have the root canal too, and was told that was it £52 for a consultation, filling and root canal. He basically done it free in case I lost the crown at a later date. It’s still there today about two years on. Jon

A local Dentist was arrested for dealing drugs.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I’ve been going to him for 10 years and never knew he was a Dentist!
