Hi Guys & Gals, My cases are apart and almost ready for vapour blasting but there is some damage to the bracket that the end of the clutch cable is bolted to. Is this something I can repair myself with liquid metal as its not structural or would it need professional repair due to having them vapour blasted and the repair being visible. I'm in Derby in the East Midlands. Cheers, Jim

You could make a bracket to mount to the case along with the cable retaining bracket but personally I'd get a bit an alloy weld repair done
I've posted cases no problem
Usually use UPS via Interparcel and never had an issue

Thanks Steve
I’ll have a search on here for alloy repairers 👍

You could ask Garry at Metmachex. He's in Alfreton. He knows a thing or two about welding alloy !! Dusty

Drill it, put a small metal post in there and then make a mould around it with plasticine then fill it with JB Weld, when it’s set remove the mould and file to the correct shape, works a treat and doesn’t cost much, plus if it doesn’t work then you’ll still be able to go down the welding route, but that too would still require a bit of tidying up afterwards too.

Suggest having it welded :-) Then you can use a later model Yama Clutch cable. Ones with a threaded mount at either end.. and lose the foolish Yama spring thing 'hold' down.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I might just play safe and send it somewhere to be welded.
Cheers
