Anyone fitted a 41mm RWU front end? Looking at Fazer maybe? Have some 3MA forks, but needs yokes, wheels etc. For my mates hybrid project...

Work a treat Early ones don't have preload adjust but you get cheap billet adjusters Fazer front wheels are cheap as chips and the brake set up is excellent I suspect 3ma/fazer/xjr400 yokes all have same fork spacing as all use the 3ma front muddy I've used the fazer bottom yoke twice. Stem needs shortened by 20mm from memory. Instead of cutting and welding I got the threaded and bearing sections at the top cut further down then lopped 20mm off the end. I used fazer top yoke on one, xjr400 on the other Xjr400 has top yoke mounts that are near as damn it the same as lc clocks Using them on my TR too as you can get cartridge conversions for them Steve

Should also say if you extend the tab on the frame outward the lockstops work
Also RD ignition switch can be made to fit quite easily and the steering lock still works
All in the build threads under "31k retro hybrid" and "31k leftovers hybrid"

Oh and Fazer front wheel is 17mm spindle
Fazer had an electronic Speedo but used a drive shaped like a mechanical one
You can fit an old 17mm spindle drive and the bits in the wheel
If your 3ma forks are 15mm spindle then use a 3ma wheel
It is the matching rear in 17 inch that is hard to come by
I used an xjr400 rear as it was 17x4.00

Yes, 4L0 frame. He wants a Metmachex swingarm with a 3 spoke Yamaha back wheel, so may try to get an XJR400 one as would be a 4 x 17 so could run a 140 rear tyre, which is about as wide as you can go without issues. Will start a build thread now :-)

Well that confirms the 3ma yokes are the same dimensions 👍

I'm using 41mm forks from an FZR400 in my lc but shortened by 35 mm, if I was doing it again i would use fazer forks as I think they are the correct length & would be less hassle. Just my opinion but lc's & ypvs suit thicker rwu forks than usd.

As the bike sits , the forks look to be fine , i have seen them used on other hybrid lc’s with no problems

My LC uses 43mm RWU R6 forks which i think looks a little too thick when you compare it to rest of the bike, frame tubes etc.
They make the bike feel comfortable to ride and the brakes calipers you can fit are superb when it comes to stopping.
In trying to set the bike up i have dropped the yokes through the forks. I started out with the fork tops protruding 25mm above the yokes. This gave me an uneasy feeling like the front end could wash out when entering a roundabout fast. They ended up protruding 14mm above the yokes.
Wether your forks are short or long is not the point. It should be made so that you feel comfortable riding it.
