Hi I am rebuilding my 350 YPVS engine and I just want to check will Castrol Power 1 SAE 10W-30 4T oil be ok to use? It is HC synthese motor oil does this mean it is fully synthetic? But it does not say this on the bottle.
Thanks

The oil is for a motorbike. But the oil I have does not say it is fully synthetic or semi synthetic. I have heard that fully synthectic is not good for wet clutchs. It sayes in the manual 10W-30 oil is what to use.

After struggling to select neutral with the engine running I put Silkolene light gear oil in my power valve, I can now select neutral, therefore I highly recommend

Must admit I tend to use whatever oil I have left over from my cars, should use bike specific I know!! Ive done this as well, never an issue with it. My LC at the moment has BMW 4 stroke bike oil in the gearbox , reason being my friend works for BMW , its free and was on the shelf ...another friend of mine refused to pay bike oil prices & run all his ( 4 stroke ) bikes on car oil for years, he did use them hard , home and abroad , never a problem. That said, i did need some gearbox oil today for the YSR and opted for the more usual halfords gear oil.

ATF220 from work that we use in transmissions on the diesel trains, wet Clutch compatible, and free, lovely.

If it's an engine oil, simply check if it has a JASO MA Spec, that means it's designed for Motorcycles with Wet Clutches.

Just wondering if anyone has used this motorcycle gear box oil? I'm currently using Silkolene Light Gear oil and seems fine.
