Ive been looking at the early tank thats hanging next to a later one in my garage as I wondered about fitting it to my later frame as I have one i could repair, whereas I seem to be struggling to find a late tank at all. sigh... The more I look at it the more I wonder if fitting this, even if sort the front mounts (multiple options), would be nigh on impossible, due to the following: 1 - The back (whole tank maybe?) is longer, ie from the rear mount to where the tank shape turns upwards? 2 - The tap mount is in a different place? 3 - The later mounts are welded where the flange is on the early tank? 4 - The front is more 'pointy' on the early tank so probably doesnt fit the frame? 5 - The front has a half moon tunnel for the frame, will look strange on the later bike as no frame is there? 6 - The early side panel mounts are in a different place so would have to run early sides or move them (not that hard in the scheme of things lol) Has anyone ever done this I wonder? Im all up for cutting and welding a tank, but if the fuel tap will foul the frame and the flanges stop me adding mounts and then after all the work it looks weird as there is no frame rail for it to wrap over I do wonder if its worth it? Of course I can just get on with it, but worth an ask as someone may have info Ive not seen Thoughts?

yes YPVS tanks are not swap able they look daft if you try and the effort to fit one is not worth the time

Tzr125r Belgarda can be made to work too. Made by Acerbis in a plastic material, so no rust, but it's not plug and play (but nothing else will be unfortunately ) I wonder if the Jap firm doing the earlier tanks have any plans for a later version ? Might be worth an ask Dusty

I did ask them Dusty, they basically said 'maybe later'.
Sadly we didnt get those bikes here so not easy to find one of those tanks either :/
