Hi All, How do you torque up the base studs on a PV barrel please?
I can't see how you can get a socket onto the studs, especially those under the power valve at the front of the cylinder?
Thanks all

I guess you realise that you would need to reduce the torque setting if you use the NK wrench as it will move the centre of rotation away from the bolt that you are trying to torque? To be honest, I just do them up by hand in a diagonal sequence a quarter of a turn at a time until they feel tight using a 13mm spanner.

Yes it comes with instructions for the calculation I have previously did as you say and tightened in a diagonal sequence Steve

Should have said the NK wrench is 12mm (14mm on the other end)

I use a pull gage on ordinary spanner. Too much torque squashes bottom gasket. And lowers squish. Pull gage are cheap as chips.

You can use the NK tool at a tangent to the torque wrench then the normal torque setting can be used.
What I have done in the past was pull all the nuts up by hand at what I think is the same pressure then mark all the nuts with a maker pen and use a torque wrench to tighten 2 of them. Check how far they have moved take the average and tighten the rest with the same amount of movement.

The NK spanner is a Motion Pro, available from lots of places if youre not local to NK.
