I will be disappearing up my backside again. We didn’t stop last time, managed to keep all the lads going without any furlough. The run up to Christmas and the 1st of Jan will be manic.
I am more worried about Brexit and that t**t in London.
Stress factor 9 here we come.

I was joking about buying up loads of LCs (I haven't got room for them), the YPVS I bought in September was from someone who had been furloughed and needed the money, but I don't think I got it cheap. I work at the UKs largest container port, where most of the consumer products come into the UK, and we're significantly down on throughput, which indicates that the economy is up shit creek (or the UK has suddenly started manufacturing stuff), I hope everyone is okay financially, mentally and health wise, but I think the world is on a path to a very deep recession that will cause far more misery and suffering than Covid-19 Yes, I have no doubt that the economy is up shit creek as you say. A former employee of the bank of England provides some insight into the numbers here,......also interesting to hear how much the NHS would normally spend on treatment/an operation to extend a persons life by one year.

Working, but may try and find a bit of time to get the LC an MOT, needs a few bits that I’ve ‘put in a safe place’ - may take a while to find them 😂

Fortunately I’m retired so ‘lockdown’ doesn’t affect me too much apart from curtailing the amount of riding I do. Currently got the YDS6 up on the bench in the process of full restoration, 500 needs carbs setting up as only starting/running on 3 but my ‘lockdown’ project is to replace a 10x8 old metal shed with a wooden 14x10 wooden one which I’ll build myself. First thing which I started this week was some groundwork to change the shed position/orientation to use up some unused awkward ground behind the garage. Once done, the shed will be for daughter’s static and other bicycles plus further bike storage as I current have a GT380 and RD350(A) being restored elsewhere and also my brother’s X7. After the shed is done just have to work out an easier way to get the bikes from garage level up to shed level (4-5 feet).

Come on tell us all? What ya got? Renault Alpine GTA 2.5 Turbo Very nice, I'd love an A110 or 310, but I suspect they're silly money to buy.

Renault Alpine GTA 2.5 Turbo Very nice, I'd love an A110 or 310, but I suspect they're silly money to buy. In 2009 I was in the dilemma of weather to sell my bikes and buy an A110 or keep the bikes and Buy a Triumph TR2 long door. I choose to keep the bikes and got the Triumph. I now look back and regret it. A110 is now worth anything from £70k to £250k. My youngest son reminds me all of time. t**t. I love the A310 as well but very rare and knocking £50k. Its bonkers looking for its time. The GTA values are only going one direction and they are worth twice as much anywhere else in the world than in the UK. Mine is in an ultra rare colour and interior combination, two owners from new. The wife likes it because of the 80's stereo system in it. Its been off the road for 14 years, wish me luck.

I'm going to sit back and watch the economy nosedive. I will try and give hope to my son who is trying to get an engineering placement as part of his NVQ.. College are grasping at straws it seems, as they are tell pupils to apply to BandQ and screwfix and the likes...probably be telling us to try at Spar next..... So many better things to do like a CB900 Spencer rep, 250LC proddy conversion, RD400C rebuild, Commando reinstatement with gearbox oil leak to fix and superblends to fit together with new paint... painting apperatus to set up.... the list goes on and on.. you get the idea. Only need a simple thing called health to get the ball rolling. PS... Is anyone else exasperated by their childs lack of interest in something that has fascinated you for most of your life? Bikes. He's been surrounded with "it" all his life, sat on my CBR 1000 whilst knee high... buried the fairing fixings in the garden , I was the stay at home dad changing nappies and feeding and reading "old bear" several times every day whilst bouncing him on my knee, in between messing with several bikes. Pillioned him as soon as he could reach the footpegs. I am just wondering if the lack of interest IS down to being surrounded with it?? and it's not something that was to be hankered for as it was me, until I got my 1st one...a norman nippy aged 12. Not really on topic I suppose but I have to say "me too" to the second part of your post. My lifelong passions of motorcycles and music have not been passed on to the next generation, suspect when I am gone my bikes and guitars will be sold to fund trendy tattoos and beach holidays!

Didn't Wheeler Dealers restore one of those? I remember something about a company making bigger carbs that gave a surprising power improvement.

Didn't Wheeler Dealers restore one of those? I remember something about a company making bigger carbs that gave a surprising power improvement. Alex I think they did an A310, They put a Holley carb conversion on it. You can now get a fuel injection kit that looks like the Holley carb. Salvage hunters classic cars did a White GTA Atmo. The guy they got the boot liner from is the guy I bought my car from, Stephen Dell. He told me that they spent a lot more on parts with him than they let on in the program and that it stood them a lot more than they advertised it for. Even then it sold for a lot less than they wanted so lost quite some money.

like many others I will be working, but I get a short week so I get a little extra time in the garage. Still dithering about converting 250 to 350 LC, got head, barells, pistons etc, just need to convince myself to rip apart a perfecty good motorcycle! Long term plan is to sell it to get a 350N YPVS so is it money well spent or not?

Its complicated! My old 350N is currently being (slowly) restored and I am told I have first refusal when its done. But I want it NOW! My 250 was only a stopgap but I like it more than I thought and converting to 350 would make it fantastic. And a 350N seems to be worth more than my bike!!!
