I’m in Nottingham and have bought a XR3i for my next project, anyone got a trailer I could borrow for the day to collect it? I don’t mind a bit of travel if you can help.

XR3i is a car Russ... what a waste of your talent.... Just think of all the skinned knuckles, shite in your eyes when you're underneath it and all the extra swearing.... Do a Bosozoku matching numbers UK 350LC build...

Ohh its a cabriolet!
Back in the late 90s I worked in Farnborough and we had a secretary who was blond and very typically so, she could only have been more blond if she was from Essex. She had a white XR3i Cab which perfectly fit her personality. Sadly it was rusty and always breaking down, if only she'd had it 10 years earlier or it was as nice condition as yours looks to be in. Yours looks like a late one as its on an H; Im thinking 1990 must have been near the end of production?
Whats the plans with this Russ? Resto or lairy?

Last mk4 in special paint only 1200 made apparently, I’m going standard with it, maybe if I get another I’ll go balls out with it 😬

My current daily Subaru is one of 200 (Limited edition with special paint, wheels and interior) and its amusing when you see another one on the road, cue lots of waving lol. I cant imagine you'll see another like your Cab unless you go to a Ford meet, and even then its unlikely after all this time. Sounds like a plan, with rare cars it seems that OEM resto is the way to go. I cant quite imagine one done in your signature style, best we find you a second one to see what will happen

Ahh yes, great cars. I had one of the last of the classic shape ones in 2000. Not much was faster on an A road. I always felt they were like LCs as we modded them as soon as they arrived and so they were all different. Happy days.

Actually since we have a thread for the 'AWD rally icons from the 90s' we should probably have a Ford Escort thread as well for you and the others who have these. I expect we'll also need one for the Mk2 Golf guys, I know there must be a bunch of them lurking in garages of those who have our bikes
