Which grade of fork oil are you guys using for normal road use?
Haynes manual states 10W/30 engine oil I know, using a 'proper' fork oil will probably be a better option?

Which upgraded springs are you using? Used a set of Hagons if I remember correctly. Definitely improved the front,

Here's the big question, if it were that good in a suspension set up too, how comes Mobil etc don't claim that & market the product for that application too? The possibility of selling even more bottles of the stuff would appeal to them surely? I'm not saying that you are wrong, just pointing out the obvious really.

Bare's suggestion works well and I use it. I believe it is a cheap option if on a budget. I tried it against engine oil, and one type of fork which I had in house at the time. Used in conjunction with progressive springs (probably German) and a 14 or 17mm preload spacer. I weigh 105kg

Years, 12 or more ? ago.. In the US (gasp!) there was a comprehensive lab test of pretty well all available, used and potential Fork oils. Mobil 1 ATF, actually tested amongst the very best Bespoke fork oils. Only Belray HV bested it.. pricey swill that. Have some and it worked No better in My Yama.. TBH. Something about Mobils' remarkable Centistoke performances..IIRC it's viscosity retention under heavy compression cycles, or something like that. Only reliable retained memory was that it's Good and it Works.
Suspect Mobil doesn't give a rats a** about the Moto aftermarket .. it's below insignificant.

That is rather short sighted of them, worldwide the motorcycle market must add up to a fair amount though.

Plus one on ATF. I use it in all my vintage bikes forks.

Used to run my Trials bike gearboxes on ATF, no issues whatsoever , nice and cheap so fortnightly changes not a problem, it’s very versatile by the looks👍
