That's what I thought. Probably fill up with water and fry my electrics when it shorts.
Think I will stick with the Koso plan.

That's what I thought. Probably fill up with water and fry my electrics when it shorts. Think I will stick with the Koso plan. It might fill up with water from the wash bucket, but the rain isn't going to affect any LC owners I put a £30 eBay version on a track bike. It worked fine. I even wired the GPS in. The instructions are a bit pigeon English so it can be a bit tricky figuring out what wire goes where. The thing with these clocks is they are not very complicated. The idiot lights are either inline, main beam, indicators, back lights, or an earth for the neutral switch oil light. The speedo is a magnet and you measure 1 revolution of the wheel (I used 3 revolutions then divided by 3 to reduce error). The rev counter uses either High (wrapped on the HT lead) or Low tension (on the coil feed wire). After that you keep adjusting the pulse/firing frequency until it looks right. It's usually .5, 1 or 2 TBH the hardest part is understanding your bikes loom diagram. I use a credit card to follow the wire I need. If it goes at a right angle use the edge of the card to follow the wire. It's dead easy.

Same here. I have had two, but the only problem I had with it was when some vandal broke the perspex on the first one. So I bought another one. It took a bit of working out to get the high temperature warning light to work with the temp sender on the head- it needed some extra resistors in the wire. I've actually made a replacement neutral light sensor, with seven contacts instead of only one, because the speedo has a built-in gear indicator, but I have not got round to connecting it up yet. I'm very happy with it. I'd recommend them. At the price it's crazy just to dismiss tthem.

Great advice chaps, one clock for us all to keep in mind for the future, original clocks are only going to become harder and more expensive to find I guess.

I too have bought a cheap china digital clock (round) works great, all idiot lights working, with mine I am going to use a separate digital temp gauge, still have to sort the rev counter because of the 2 pulses and this does not have 0.5, but I am also very happy with it.

Forgot to mention the temp sender has to match the clocks. You can swap the one that comes with the clocks with your existing one. Beware of BSP and NPT threads. You can make them "fit" and water tight with some PTFE tape or get this lot to re-thread the sender to fit your engine contextpneumatics.com/

I got a lot of time to make up for with mine so once it's built, it will be used, and if it's raining, I'm getting wet.😁

Wired one up for a friends FZ750, worked alright, I can ask if it's still working. That would be good cheers. If it is still working after a while it may be worth a punt, even if just to tie me over until I get a Koso. Will free funds up for other stuff in the meantime.
