Saw it yesterday and thought it a good base for a hybrid or a naked runaround
Unfortunately between paint, forks/muddy, fairing and clocks there's £2k needing spent to make it standard before service part costs
Still when you consider £1k for an engine and if the bodywork is solid it's a good donor

Are the engines for these really 1k?

Its definitely cheaper and quicker/easier to buy a complete bike rather than a project and then source/buy all the missing parts. I'm in the process of doing the latter on my 31k project, and my bill to date is above the £3k asking price for this bike and I still have some key parts to source. This is all time consuming but also fun when I'm getting boxs of bits delivered most days! Sad but working from home, and my Hermes delivery lady is very hot!
This is before costs of refurb eg engine rebuild, paint, frame repairs, wheel bearings, fork rebuild, new tyres/chain/sprockets/fasteners etc etc but those costs I would incur either way.

I think it was intended for a quad or enduro bike, though since I also have a FZ600 tank and seat on it, it's not really a fair comparison.

Sounds the same as me, got a small screen fitted to mine, mainly to cover up and protect some digital clocks from the weather, (the backs never look that neat either with wires everywhere) but also hoping they would be easier to see in bright sunlight too. Cheapo Chinese, but fairly unobtrusive.

Allegedly they used to Dyno bikes with a desktop fan in front of them for cooling!!! Also heard one fell off the bench due to a strap breaking. I have no idea if either story is true tho. Don't think I ever heard great stuff of them.
