Std rg500 rolling chassis valuation? What do you reckon a std frame wheels suspension and tank in good condition is worth? No pics and asking for a friend 😁

£1500. The value is in the frame number/V5 and more so the tank. Std. wheels are cheap and std. suspension is only worth scrap value or for someone that would never ride an RG over 30mph

Too much and not worth it Plus you need zillions of bits you can’t get hold of to go from a frame and engine to a working bike
The 400 kicks out 55-60bhp
You are looking at £4K plus for something that would need £3k spending on I it
The 400 motor needs a lot of work to give it some umph

Thanks Phil I made an offer he wants double the amount so I’m out I thought buy chassis change front and rear end buy motor and get it built another 5 or 6 k plus pipes ignition etc £1500 then chassis upgrade £1200-1500 Bodywork £1000 plus paint and others didn’t want it std and thought over next 12-18 months could build a nice retro xr84 style rg but he wants too much cash.

Buy an Aprilia V-Twin chassis and put a two stroke motor in that.

Which had I been able to get the chassis for a reasonable price I’d have been looking at then tuning etc on top but when someone wants £3k plus for basically a frame and tank that’s too much for me.

It was stu’s build that really started me thinking about them.

Now then, you have me thinking now
Knew where there was an RD500 engine
Now would that go into an fz750 frame 🤔
🤣🤣🤣

A decent RG build from scratch will cost about £20k if you are lucky Engine £4k Carbs £1k if you can find some Nova dry clutch and box £4k because the Suzuki one will fail Engine rebuild/tune £4k (there is 4 of everything) Pipes £1,750
Then you can think what rolling chassis to put it in, RGV250, Aprilia RS250 even an RG400 frame. A conversion kit is £1,500 for an RGV. A decent rear shock is going to cost getting on for £1k, Buy and rework forks at least £2k Buy and rework a swing arm £1k, Wheels and tyres £1k Custom loom £1k, decent dash £500, tank (you can make an MC21 fit) £500, Tyga GP fairing and seat £2k then paint it
Have I put you off yet ?

I wouldn’t want any of this modern stuff as I say I’m into fag sponsored bikes era so an xr84 style would be my type of bike.
