Hi all, so having added the later electronic tacho on my 31k can somebody tell me which wire I need to connect the grey wire from the tacho to? My meme pry seems to think it’s the wire on the coil but thought I’d check before I do it! Thanks, Phil

Or is it one of these on the CDI?

If it's a later ypvs tacho from a N/F/R then it's the black/yellow at the cdi or pv controller (it's the same wire going between the 2)

Is there a way to test a tacho? mine appears not to work. Thanks for the info on the battery John, mine is a new battery so should be that causing the issue.

Is it a black face tacho with red writing or a white writing with a speed warning light
The later rz250 ones used a pulse signal from the orange wire at the coil

Its red writing, I cant remember if it the one from you Steve, I think not, that had a faded needle, I guess I'll be using it now though. I guess I'll be pulling the clocks off again today and swap the tacho, that way I'll know if its the tacho or the wiring....

Take the pv pulley cover off and rev the bike up
Pv's should start to move 5.5-6k
Fully open 9-10k
If the valves are operating then the signal is fine

Thanks Steve, I'll try that this week, the PV seems to be cycling ok but will check that.
