I have a 10w carb which I had bought a few months ago and could never get it running good on the bike so after several strip down and clean I noticed that the hole in the rear where you look through to the needle jet from air filter end did not have a blanking ball in it but should it have ?
the bike runs very well and pulls all the way through to the redline but is a bit fluffy below 5000rpm.
i have 12a carb and a late ypvs carb but these both have the ball fitted so this is the problem
thanks for any feed back I receive

God only knows what has been done over the years to these bikes, restricted UK spec bikes were slow. I think 10W was unrestricted bike and 12A was restricted, or other way round, can't remember sorry. Restricted bikes were almost dead till 5000 Rpm then they took off like a scolded cat.

Thanks for the information I think maybe I will fit a ball and give it a go to see if it cleans up the low speed response but when running the 10w carb it pulls really well and if I fit the 12a carb but with the 10a jet size 155 it rides well low down but no power further up the revs.
