The rear decal is missing on my 82 bodywork. Does anyone have an original tail piece they can take a pic of? Want to get it exactly right...
TIA.

It would be nice to have a thread for the measured exact decal placement (with pics - maybe from skills plus?) for all the LC bodywork really.

I think you will find that the decals float a few mm's here and there even on the bikes that left the factory as i think they were put on by eye.
For me, the important one is the 250/350 angular displacement on the side panels, it drives me potty when I see those misaligned which you do see on a number of rebuilds unfortunately.

A side shot from an official brochure Tail piece. All original tail piece decals are fitted in 3 sections as you can see it’s cut & shaped around the grab rail mount. Not many repainted items capture this detail.

Many thanks gents.
Jon - I have original brochures so could take a pic of anything you need. They don’t show this decal tho!

I thought it was one or the other? Jon

Brochure wrong? Market dependant and so both shown in the standard pix yam did?
We had both the rail and the strap on some of ours in Aus. I know the brochures dont show em, but Ive bought seats nos that have Aus part numbers for both the 29L and 1XG models with straps, both had rails etc.
The 500 doesnt have a grab rail in Aus tho and of course no strap on those as thats where the single seat bolts on. You could fit one I guess to those fixings. hmm...

From memory, the 3-stripers didn't have the front muddy decal in UK, although you do get this decal in most decal kits. It actually looks better with the decal though.

I had forgotten how nice the blue 3 stripes looked.
