Interested in how it is proposed they do it? So are they expected to carry a bag on their back with a scoop? Or are they followed by a poop scoop vehicle? Or a pack of dogs to eat up all the scrummy natural vegetable waste? If they are hacking solo who holds the horse? I’d be more interested in banning t**ts with loud pipes from ruining the countryside or Lycra wearing cyclist types dropping litter in the country side? I assume this is a joke??? Tell me Kenny it’s a wind up???

Tell me Kenny it’s a wind up??? It's not a joke when they stop a shit in front of you front door. I solved it by patiently waiting for a man on a horse to do it. I then picked up a handful and threw it at him. Verbally letting him know my feelings on the subject.

Horses are always shitting on my doorstep. However I live in the countryside down the road from the British showjumping centre of excellence and my wife and son have 4 between them. Live and let live they have as much right as we do to use the roads.

Yes but not within two steps of your front door. I see lots of horse drawn carriages with nets to catch the unwanted presents. Something must be possible.

Where did I say they cannot use the roads come on dont add to the issue. They should be made to scoop it up or put something on the horse to catch it. Its bloody rediculous thet they can just trot on and ignore it. Then along comes 16yr old johnny on hos scooter and slides off it due to slippery horse shit. If you were a biker you would see the dangers involved with this. Yes it did happen to me once and my new bike was 4weeks old when it happened. There was fresh shit on a blind corner and it must have been a huge shit as it spread across 4ft of the road and I had nowhere to go but down.

Definitely live and let live. When I’m out in the car and unbeknown to me I dump oil or diesel on the road I’m probably liable to a fine and mot failure. I’m responsible. No sticking my head in a horse bag and pretending it ain’t happening.

ok ya try to do something right for everyone and Im sorry but I really cannot believe that you think this is a joke of some kind, well I do hope you never hit a patch then and I guess most are cage drivers or fair weather warriors. I do agree that we need to be vigilante but 16yr old Johnny has to learn this with experience and as he gets older he should get wiser. but this is no joke why should they get away with this dangerous act.

My wife and daughter both have horses, they try to keep off the roads and just use the bridleways but on more than one occasion bikes have come past them too close or opened the throttle as they pass making the horse bolt, some times intentionally . I'm not a fan of horses , they cost twice as much to keep than my bikes do and have caused more injuries to the wife than I've ever had biking but they were here first don't make that much mess to worry me .

I live in the countryside as I say I have horses and they are an intrinsic part of my family’s life they cause very little stress or hassle in the countryside those that live here know where they go and what roads they may hack down. The bigger problem is idiots from the city bombing pass them without a care for the rider and horse and I would be more concerned selfishly about that. We have a bigger problem with city dwellers riding like they are on a race track with their loud exhausts scaring people and animals should they be banned? Maybe riders and drivers need more education about leaving the confines of the city and yobbing it up? What about idiots that go to Mac Donald’s then dump their shite in the countryside? City dwellers? Fly tippers? People double parking on verges in the countryside? Would they like that if we turned up with our tractors and real 4x4’s and did the same? I’m sorry but I am struggling to understand the logic, and yes if you have been personally effected you have my sympathy but maybe these people should think a little more or learn more Road craft? Unfortunately accidents happen and trying to blame one sector of society is not going to resolve it. I was hit by a red ford escort in 1985 driven by a myopic driver I haven’t thought that all red ford escorts need banning. I say live and let live because there are far far bigger issues in society that need resolving ? The thousands of kids that are sexually abused every year in the Uk, poverty deprivation and neglect endemic in society these are what I worry about so that what I sweat. Kenny we obviously aren’t going to see eye to eye so I won’t comment further.

Sorry but I agree they should clean it up. I pick up my dogs shit and dispose of it. Remember your horses shit can kill a dog after the horse has had some types of medication. If police horses can wear shit catchers then any horse on public land can do so. I live in the country also and my neighbours have horses and we have stables within 400m and there is always horse shit on the road and on the public right of ways. I know its more than likely there but it doesn't mean I want to put up with it.

Seems only fair for horse owners to have the same responsibility as dog owners in regard to shit management... now what about sheep and cows who drop a log while passing along a road??

What about people that put more than logs n paper in the sewage system? Let me tell you when you been up to your shoulder cleaning shit away you’ll never let your wife use another baby wipe (the joys of septic tanks).

When we bought our house the sewerage all backed up. The previous owner had been flushing nappies down the toilet.

Oh no that’s awful, mine is actually a reed bed system from 1920 they reckon you can drink the water that comes out the other side. Did think about bottling it and selling it to some boutique in London.

Can anyone fathom out those dog walkers that pick up their dogs' freshly laid logs using those small little black bags ...then hurl them into the nearest hedgerow?? Because I'll be buggered if I can... There are trees around here that look like some sort of satanic Christmas trees during the winter months....

My family have had a couple of horses, I have ridden in the past..but wont any more. I found the fly by wire throttle connection very temperamental and the steering veered from understeer to oversteer constantly. And the pile offs... well... on the last one, I saw more stars than when I was at the Race of the Year at Mallory Park in 1972.... Jarno, Cooper, Sheene, Read, Duhamel, Nixon, Rayborn, Pickrell, Croxford, Smart, the list goes on and on...but you get the drift...
