Hi guys, the original Gully seat on my LC is a bit of a state now and needs some attention. The base has cut through the cover on both front lower edges near the tank, the rubber pads on the underneath have punched through the fibreglass base and the base also has some cracks. What's the best way to get it sorted while retaining as much originality as possible?
Thanks

Pics would be helpful rich, but it sounds like you need to strip it, cover off, foam off repair the base, of the foam is ok reuse and get a new cover they are available not genuine unless you’re lucky and find one but the new ones are a direct copy of the original.

Think my Gully seat is plastic on the underside, so yours is perhaps a diff model?
Defo you can repair and patch GRP so thats no hassle, as Veg says the covers sold now are not OEM but do look good.

I think but could be wrong that early gully seats were fibreglass then went injection plastic, they have the steel tang on the front. Bob the seat i believe is well known, and these guys borrowed my genuine seat and used it as the pattern for their gully seat www.pandkclassicbikes.co.uk/Products-Replica-seats.html
