Apart from the usual suspects of tyres, exhausts and oil, which other frequent questions need to be made stickies? I know we have some but there has been an increase of the same questions being asked time and again by newbies generally without any searches being done. Wonder if Norbo/mods would let there be a separate pure stickies area with how to advice. I know we have some but.

Balls out would be one. Clock strip would be another. Dont buy Indian tanks another. Recommendations on tank liners. sure there are lots of others, but seems a good idea.

Registering an import another, I did a thread on here that gets lost at times, but I try to resurrect it every 6 months or so. Dustys engine build would be a good one too.

Agree to stickies. I spend far too long looking for stuff on search function. Obviously haven’t sussed out how to use it properly.

Needs must, but I find the search function on here to be one of the best, so I don't think its capability is the issue.

I defo think we need this, we do get a lot of posts where I seem to have to say 'if you search...'. Recently some have been only days apart.
I'd like to see something like a wiki where we could all add in useful threads, that way there is less burden on the mods.
The great thing about a forum is that its not facebook, you can search and find answers to questions that have been asked previously, and weve done that a lot here.

. The great thing about a forum is that its not facebook, you can search and find answers to questions that have been asked previously, and weve done that a lot here. This is an excellent point ....couple of forums I used to frequent, have gone eerily quite of late, and i mean totally dead as their users have migrated to Facebook groups, which I find absolutely shite for finding information, as its all "in the now " even seeing an interesting post, and thinking ill go back to that in a minute, and its gone, can I find the bloody thing, can I hell ......its a backward step Facebook. Forums, especially this one are perfect for specialist site's of interest, its all in one place, archived and going no where, as I've said, the search function is great, key words in the sections you need, and its all there, sites like pistonheads used to have a great search engine, but its dire now, and Google does a better job ffs ,few sites like this exist anymore due to FB, a plague on zuckerburgs genitals wouldn't be far enough. I'm certainly very grateful we have this place, its very busy and very friendly, I'm here several times a day, and always there's new posts to read, in all the forums I have bookmarked, this is the ONLY one like this ......

I find facebook very one dimensional - if the info is not in front of your face at the time you're looking, then it's gone forever. And as a newbie here, I like the idea of stickies - but the search tool is also pretty good. What's needed is a sticky on how to use the search tool

I despise Facebook it’s virtual reality perfection for muppets (although I do quite like dustys fb pictures post) I’m not a huge fan of Fb and much prefer the functionality of this place. I completely understand where rigga is coming from however I have noticed an upturn in similar questions being asked on a regular basis as jonw says. We all then tend to respond to the queries I was just pondering would it be worth having stickies so we could respond look here? Be interested to get Norbo’s input and maybe a mods?

There is also a culture that started with Fb where you just ask questions and people answer you. No need to look stuff up, why waste time? etc. Sadly, that mantra permeates through lots of things in life now and Ive lost count of the questions ive been asked at work as well when the answer is just a simple mouse click away... and yes I think its cheeky as I have to do that work for them and then send the link to them, often without a thank you. The world is full of cazy lunts. Anyway, i applaud the idea Veg and I hope you can make it work. Without sounding negative, we tried to do something like this on the RDRZ500 site under a new heading where we archived off good threads and threads started with great links and info. It was soon populated by messy questions that belonged elsewhere and the mod got waylaid into other things so it lost its focus which was a shame. I'd love to have a great search and a nice ordered site, but I fear it would be a struggle to get to that nirvana, somewhere closer would be good tho. And dont think I havent asked dumb questions or not been able to find things either... The point i hope is that most of us do try to find the info first.

Don't talk to me about stupid questions
I don't do Facebook, hate the pretentious or vicious sh1te on it
My wife is and I am constantly amazed by the questions people ask
"When dues Tesco shut"
Well if you typed that into Google you would get an instant factual answer
Not wait half an hour for 3 people to guess 🙄

"What's the best bike, LC or YPVS?" Definitely this one. It’s the LC of course, or it could be 50/50 or whatever you have at the time. If you have both, which do you ride most? Think the ypvs is the better bike on points but somehow the lc gets to you, f—k it they are all brilliant, and they exist.

Hello everyone,
Great idea from Veg about a topical / stickies section with answers. I say this as I would definitely use it ! I do search before I ask questions and the search function is great.
Keep well everyone, Regards, Terry
