Hi all, I recently bought some generic handlebar risers off Ebay for the LC as the Fazer ones are too swept back. They have just arrived but the 2 allen screws that hold the clamps to the risers (and the bars to the bike!) are only M5. This seems very under spec to me. Bear in mind most standard bikes use M8. Any thoughts? I am a little pissed off as these have taken about 6 weeks to come from China.
Cheers

Jeez that's tiny
Either 2 x m8 or 1 x m10 surely

Eeeek.. very tiny indeed. As Steve says, they should be bigger. no sense bolting on bars with 4 x M8 and then holding the lot with 2 x M5.

Yeah I know Steve, they use a single M10 to the yoke which is fine but M5 seems way too small for the clamps. I'm gonna email them, hopefully they will just refund.

There are some horrible risers out there and I only like the Renthal clamps
More money but you know what you are getting

If the bolts to yoke are m10 I would drill and tap them out to m6
I'm sure yokes from spondon440 use m6 bolts

Your a lucky man being able to 👍 Now thinking about it I'm positive Andy would use a high grade of alloy The Chinese ones? 🤔 Maybe another issue Steve

Has the thread gone? ( I haven't read the full thread ) (lol) why not helicoil them? Incidentally, high quality aluminium doesn't make them indestructible. Let me know if I can help, they take me back Andy

Lol, must be age but I seem to join all conversations late and get it wrong, they made me smile anyway pal.
I actually made those and that would have been the last time I regularly got on a machine, sadly I'm above all that now
