I made some like this when I fitted a 100/80/17 front tyre on a TZR wheel in an 31K front end. They allow more clearance for wider front tyre. Not sure they are OEM...

Interesting Did any gen elsie mudguard bracket have raised sections to the outer side where the bolts run through into the forks? Was looking at one of the ones I've got an was wondering if it was a bodge or correct.

Seen them last week b/s.. i have here a 250lc 4l1 that i went out to check the mudguard bracket in the shed now this bike is totaly orirginal 2800 miles frame/eng no 850 which means its the 750th one ever made and no tiebars and non braced exhausts and still has the genuine tyres on with a full mudguard brace on and the guard would just fracture without it. Not telling you something you dont already know of course. John.

Defo they didnt come like that in Aus.... you want to learn something about mudguard hoops? Well the Aus ones are different! Ours have a bit that protrudes forwards with two bolt holes that match those in the mudguard. They were provision for a front number plate, even though we didnt have them anymore at that time, it must have been an outdated rule. Luckily the bikes didnt get a bolt on upper bracket for that plate and instead these were just left as 2 small bolt heads on top of the guard, the rest is hidden. See 4/5ths of the way down this page: www.2smoked.com/Yamaha_RDLC_Restoration_-_350_conversion_from_250.html
