I got a go pro Chinese copy off eBay years ago. About ยฃ30 I think. Sticks to your lid, inside the car windscreen and even can be mounted on a tripod. Still works a treat.

I have always wondered about wearing a go pro or whatever make. I can understand people wanting to record rides especially if somewhere special with fantastic views or like my brother in law used one when he raced the Manx. Downside is they do have quite a large degree of viewing angle which will pick up speedo and rev counter as well as recording speed will also show up any dodgy overtakes, manoeuvres, bend swinging etc. Mounting on helmet or top yoke will show clocks. Usefull though if someone T-bones you or causes you to crash but surely could be used against you too. Just my thoughts, not that I speed at all obviously.

I mounted a camera off the clutch bracket on the handle bars on my LC. Have used on road on track. Quality is fine. Mine are the cheap Aldi GoPro copies...

I would like a cam for something like the Nurburgring, donโt know if Iโm superstitious or something though but have visions of recording myself overdoing things. Suppose the thing is to use one for normal riding whatever that is so as to adapt the head. Sometimes I say to someone what might happen with the police and the reaction I get is that Iโm overthinking things, which I would rather do in most aspects of life, I donโt like surprises. Another thing to consider is sometimes have been thinking of fitting a speedo healer to a bike but they can store info.

I have two of the Roadhawk Bullet Moto+ cameras on my 1400 - one forward facing, one rearward. They are very easy to use, and I have them sighted away from the guages so as not to record the speedo, etc. They are hardwired to the bike, so switch on automatically, and record around 3-5 minutes after switching off. The picture is very high quality (HD), and using a 32Gb SSD gives hours of recording my commute to and from work. They're not cheap (but not as expensive as the GoPro's), but are bike specific and are supplied with a good selection of mounts and power options.

I use drift cameras, just prefer the profile of them and the rotating lens makes it easy to get a good view on almost all helmets. Upgraded to a drift ghost xl in october. Its only 1080p @ 30fps but the battery life is........9HOURS!!!!

I have safety concerns over fixing a camera to my helmet. Not sure of the glue would affect the structural integrity, and also worried what the camera would do to my helmet if I had a crash and the camera was between the road and my head.

Not sure of the glue would affect the structural integrity, and also worried what the camera would do to my helmet if I had a crash and the camera was between the road and my head. Good points. Trouble is that being ejected from a bike can produce unpredictable results, an ex hit a car on her little yam rs100 and the metal front flasher brackets de-gloved her legs and she only just got away without a double amputation.

Another distraction............ why fix one to a lid? In event of a crash are there any legal consequences regarding fixing one on a helmet?? Fix on bike and forget.... or play to the camera and risk getting wiping out.. A few yrs ago there was concern about stickers being applied to helmets and their behaviour during sliding along the road...well a camera would trump that one easily. And to withstand wind blast they must be somewhat secure and quite possibly not be knocked off as quick as some will predict.

I've probably been past yours if only 3 miles away at some point You have, have seen some of your vids previously. You seem to use a lot of roads I do, prefer the back lanes rather than the main roads, partly because of traffic levels. Canโt say Iโve noticed powervalves on my travels but have seen 4LOs on several occasions in the Pluckley area, some in a big group of varied classic bikes. Reluctant to give my location for all to see. Perhaps will see you at Rye or somewhere sometime.

I don't like the idea of sticking a camera on my helmet, but I do like the idea of a camera on the bike and have been looking at these not cheap but have a lot of features and can be hard wired to the bike.
