Im refurbing my RG standard master cylinder to see if it improves the brakes before i go spending a fortune , so i look up my local blasters to see if they are open ,and they are quoting £60 an hour which is steep for a master cylinder with hardly any paint on it ,they have ripped me off before so they’re not getting my business,so what is the going hourly rate ?

£60 p/h is a lot for a reasonable unskilled job I know he has to pay for the machinery ,i can’t see him getting many small jobs TBH if a trade doesn't really want the job they wack the price up. If you don't take them up on they haven't lost anything, if you do then they make a killing. And I would say vapour blasting isn't any more or less of a skill than soldering a piece of pipe, and yes I'm a plumber. I don't consider myself skilled when compared to someone like a time served engineer or a joiner that can actually make something out of a chunk of material....
