never even crossed my mind that the needles would become brittle. dont think i will start stripping the clocks down, there was nothing wrong with them when i took it off the road. so hoping this is still the case. all beit 30 years ago, see what happens when i start it up

Not so much that the've become brittle but that they sometimes stick onto their wee shafts so tightly, that one inevitably breaks them trying to pry them off. So it's not just the fundamental orifice pain of removing the clocks bezel... to deal with :-)

they do become brittle in the sun here. The needles themselves just crumble into tiny sections as they crack due to the UV.
