Bike all back together, had a fuel leak,
any way just done repair kit on fuel tap so that’s sort that problem, I think
done a full carb kit on both carbs and all was well then the left hand carb started to over flow , pulled apart the left had side again and all good but now the right had side is over flowing out the carb ,,,, but bike starts up runs but more smokey on left had side and bogging out and then I release it’s coming out the left exhaust ,, left exhaust is warm not hot like the right had side ,
pulled plug out on left had side and it’s born dry ,,
bike is getting right on my tits now

I would fit genuine float valves as a starting point if you already haven't.

Where do you get genuine from these days ,, Try Fowlers, after all they are a very common item used on many many bikes.

I got genuine ones from Fowler’s last year. Also check float height and that floats are parallel to each other. Presumably you haven’t got debris coming from the tank.

I normally get my genuine carb spares from Allens Performance. They sell genuine manufacturer parts but not with the uplift in price once they are in motorcycle manufacturer's bags with part numbers .

Allens or Norbo if you pm him Is it a vacuum tap I rebuilt mine on my lc2 must have f**ked up as it passed over night and filled the crank cases with fuel it also pissed out the overflow but only when running, bought a new tap all sorted Yes it’s a vacuum tap ,, rebuild it today as well as carbs so not had time come out over night ,, tap seems fine comes out on prime but not on res or on but bike runs on , on so must be working on the vacuum

I had a double fault a faulty tap and passing needle valves and i had just removed the carbs from my lc with no issues so must have had dirty fuel ,bought a new tap and needles and all was good

If I get back at a sensible time tomorrow I am going to pull it all apart again

The needle valve should shut off the flow of petrol to carbs regardless of the vacuum tap IMO

Ill second Allen's Performance
Also be aware that powerjet (F2) carbs have different needles and seats than non powerjet (31k)
Got caught out with this on my Jap 250 build. It totally fecks up the float levels and won't work
Your cylinders will be running different as one crankcase side probably has a nice puddle of fuel in it. It will clear
Now put your big boy pants on and get on with it 😜

Left side too rich and bad vacuum on the tap? Check your l/r bowles first. They differ Check choke pipe. No leaks. Check your vac pipe. I ditched the vactap.

Had a half day today and thought I would pull carbs off again ,, Took apart again and thought this time I would measure the float height and they was way out the standard spec , unsure why as not done anything to then and bike was fine .
Put back together and bike a lot happier,, little smokey on left pipe ,,may be all the fuel in the exhaust,,,and the left hot but not as hot as the right , so maybe a little bit more playing with carbs and should be fine ,
What do you guys think Thanks all for the help pete

Well there are a lot of procedures how to measure the floath height. With and without gasket and the angle which you hold the carb. Something i check on top of that is that i blow air by mouth with a tube through the floath valve. Well both carbs have to be exactly the same.
