Hi all, Can anyone tell me why these reed valves have been modified like this? Would there be any gains from this?

Is it something to do with the roof of the inlet port, possbly been opened or bent up so the reeds open more, can see the bottom hasn't been done the same? Depends which way whey are fitted too.

Personally I would say that has been done to open the way to the rear boost port, I would change that back to normal reed stops, it looks sharp, I would think that would in the long term damage the reeds, Bad idea I would say.

Don`t like the look of those. Reed tips break on hard revved engines ( Well they did on my KTM 250 enduro , apparently not uncommon)
I would think to be of any benefit to flow the reed would have to twist, which I wouldn`t think would be good for them.
Not seen anything like that on any of the two stroke tuning sites I loiter around.
